Roman - The Witch Hunter

Range: 130 | Move Speed: 300
Primary: AGI
Str: 23 + 2 | Agi: 25 + 2.5 | Int: 17 + 1.6
Damage: 50 - 56 | HP: 587 | Mana: 221
HP Regen: 0.94 | Mana Regen: 0.69
Attack Speed: 1.4 | Armor: 1

"Why do I slay these foul things you ask? Well, someone has to do it - it might as well be me."

Story: Amongst all beings of evil - witches, vampires, werewolves, ghouls and the likes - there is a legend, similar to a kids scare story, except that it scared everyone. The legend of a man, a man neither holy nor wicked, an adventurer, bent on slaying everything evil, demons, vampires, witches, he did not pick - he just slew, cause that is what he does - equipped with magical artifacts from the numerous beings he slew, he roams the desolate wastelands, the forests, the plains, he is nowhere and everywhere, and none is safe from him. Everyone cower at the mention of his name - Roman, the legendary Witch Hunter. When it was found out that the man who was considered only a legend, joined the sentinels, many of the Lich Kings warriors wanted to leave the scourge, but he stopped them - he could kill them at a whim. But they knew Roman was able to that as well - they had to pick between a death at the hands of Roman or the Lich King. And so, the Lich King killed half of his champions, before Roman even got a chance to lay his finger on them...that is how the Witch Hunters service in the sentinels began.

Shoot! (F)
Roman shoots his magically enhanced pistol at one enemy - it's bullets are very powerful, but it's accuracy decreases rapidly with range.

Level 1 - Deals 150 damage to one enemy. No chance to miss at 100 or lesser range. Chance to miss increases by 2% with every 10 range. Maximum range of 600.
Level 2 - Deals 225 damage to one enemy. No chance to miss at 100 or lesser range. Chance to miss increases by 3% with every 20 range. Maximum range of 600.
Level 3 - Deals 300 damage to one enemy. No chance to miss at 100 or lesser range. Chance to miss increases by 3% with every 25 range. Maximum range of 600.
Level 4 - Deals 375 damage to one enemy. No chance to miss at 100 or lesser range. Chance to miss increases by 5% with every 50 range. Maximum range of 600.

Mana Cost : 75/100/125/150
Cooldown: 12/12/12/12

Notes: The Damage type is mixed damage.

Shadow slasher (H)
Roman possesses the sword named Shadow Slasher - it has the ability to hit without fail, and can even strike beings that cannot be touched by normal blades. However, using it requires a great amount of concentration, and magic.

Level 1 - Romans attacks and spells cannot miss, and all his attacks and spells deal magical damage while this spell is active. Costs 30 mana per second.
Level 2 - Romans attacks and spells cannot miss, and all his attacks and spells deal magical damage while this spell is active. Costs 25 mana per second
Level 3 - Romans attacks and spells cannot miss, and all his attacks and spells deal magical damage while this spell is active. Costs 20 mana per second
Level 4 - Romans attacks and spells cannot miss, and all his attacks and spells deal magical damage while this spell is active. Costs 15 mana per second

Mana Cost: 15/15/15/15
Cooldown: 5/5/5/5

Bracelet of Pain (N/A)
A bracelet Roman picked up from a demon he slew - it has the ability to amplify any pain that it's user inflicts on his enemies.

Level 1 - 11% chance to amplify the damage Romans spell/attack dealt by 25%
Level 2 - 14% chance to amplify the damage Romans spell/attack dealt by 50%
Level 3 - 17% chance to amplify the damage Romans spell/attack dealt by 75%
Level 4 - 20% chance to amplify the damage Romans spell/attack dealt by 100%

Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A

Notes: Kinda like a critical, but it works on both spells and attacks. The bonus damage is the same type as the base damage of the spell/attack.

Spectral Belt (B)
Another one of the numerous artifacts Roman collected from the creatures he has slain. The belt grants the user increasing resistance to magical attacks, with each spell cast on him, or by him. This effect can be sacrificed for turning the users enemies into astral beings for a short period of time.

Level 1 - Grants 5% magical resistance. The magical resist increases by 3% for each spell cast on Roman. Caps on 40% magical resistance. When activated, turns all enemies in a 600 AoE into spectral forms for 3 seconds, amplifying all magic damage dealt to them by the same amount as the magical resistance gathered by this spell. The magic resist resets after casting.
Level 2 - Grants 7.5% magical resistance. The magical resist increases by 4% for each spell cast on Roman. Caps on 50% magical resistance. When activated, turns all enemies in a 600 AoE into spectral forms for 3.5 seconds, amplifying all magic damage dealt to them by the same amount as the magical resistance gathered by this spell. The magic resist resets after casting.
Level 3 - Grants 10% magical resistance. The magical resist increases by 5% for each spell cast on Roman. Caps on 60% magical resistance. When activated, turns all enemies in a 600 AoE into spectral forms for 4 seconds, amplifying all magic damage dealt to them by the same amount as the magical resistance gathered by this spell. The spell resist resets after casting.

Mana Cost: 50/75/100
Cooldown: 60/60/60

Notes: In spectral form, enemies are in the same state as when they are decrepified - they are slowed, cannot attack, and magic damage dealt to them is amplified by a certain amount.

That's it from me. I can still change some things, and this even may not be my actual entry, but it probably will be. I won't bother with the discussion until I see the comments on the hero itself.

Very nice,as expected for gold member's creation
1st skill, the dmg at lv 1 seems too high, reduce it?
Apply cast time too...
2nd, make it toggle skill? Cuz i dunt really understand it
3rd,amplify is too high, he can deal lucky 850 dmg at lv 8-9...
Ulti, maybe increase the mag.resist every time he cast spell? Cuz his spells are only 2 (+ i dunt understand the 2nd skill)

It is a toggle skill - just like, for example, Tormented Souls ulti - it costs mana to activate, and costs mana per second while it's active. It has a cooldown that starts when you deactivate it(so you can't just on/off it at any time)

About the ulti - yes, I could do that, but then he could just spam his second spell, turning it on and off, and increasing his spell resistance every 5 seconds. That would be an overkill.

Third skill - yeah, I was struggling about how to make it effective, yet not imba. I can reduce to amplify to 20/40/60/80%, or 15/35/55/75% - how does that sound?

I personally dont think, that the "critical" is too hard, I think it's the first spell.
scale it not up to 425, but around 350-375, and the damage will "only" be around 700-750, which is reduced by BOTH armor and magic-resistance...

Hi Gunslinger,

I think the skills are original, great and all, but I cannot stress more at enforcing this rule - "Never make a hero story with... once [name] lived in a village until [monsters] so he/she [turned into bad / Got revenge]"...
That story is really overdone!!! Porbably 30% of all undead hero ideas are like that!

Another thing, is the use of items as skills, make a difference between the two!

Ofcourse, the second and third skill refer to item skills as well. I thought that was not something I have to explain

And, yeah, the story is really generic, but I could not think of anything better at the moment.

Lowered the damage of the first skill.

not many, but a 1:5 chance of dealing huge damage plus a 40sec cd makes it pretty viable on him, since it sllows him to nuke them down hard with his ult

LOL fail. That skill is called Shadow Slashes, which is different from both Shadow Slashers, and Shadow Slasher. And what is your point anyway? Names do not affect the hero - Shuriken Toss could be called Smelly Fart, but with the same effect, and it wouldn't matter.

Next time make sure what you write, Guns, cause your own words may attack you. Smile

Meanwhile, 2nd skill is actually named Shadow Slasher. These are words that attacked you.
