Frog said, about a month ago, that he is cooperating with Valve, on making an improved version of dota - I think that will be faaaar better than the mockery that is HoN.

ii just dont like that LOL have a really steep learning curve imo. also in lol even though they say its more offensive its actually really really hard to kill anyone without a disabler. the nukes deal absolutely tiny damage even at high lvl.
now for the good part
its harder to kill alone so its more likely to see more teamplay which is the downright opposide of carrygeddon.
the nukes deal little damage but thats why you gotta invent some ew combos with your lane mate. like that icedude with the hammer and blitzcrank.
blitzcrank hook(rocket arm thingy majig)icedude stun with nuke. blitzcrank overload both hit. icedude heal all damages, blitzcrank punches him way up high and uses ulti. stun or hook if needed:)

I've never played LoL, but I've played HoN couple of times. HoN to me was kind of a fail, all trying to copy DoTa. I heard in LoL, you have to learn alot of new things(items, heroes, skills,etc), so I'm kind of avoiding LoL. Is it true?

Yes, you have to learn a lot of new things. For example, there is no Agi/Str/Int - no such thing. There are items that give damage, attackspeed, then those that increase the critical strike chance(all heroes have critical strike), then those that increase ability power(ability power increases the damage your spells do), and the items that increase your armor and magic resistance. There are also items that give gold, or reduce the cooldown of your skills.
But actually, it's not that hard. You can learn it all in 2 or 3 games. Atleast I did...

HON and LOL are some tar dive initiative to copy something that is really new in gaming industry ....
We have FPS , RPG, Strategy, MMorpg as game types..
What dota did , is a new mode of play ...is called dota mode ... Hon and lol are dota mode games .
Dota mode is a new strategy/rpg game mode where you go on-line join a game(either is war3 custom map , hon ,lol ) and find yourself on a lane with partner that’s a total stranger fighting against other ppls. protecting and ganking together. and when the game ends bye bye..gg and start again with other ppls.
I for a example i will not pay 30 bucks to play dota with new grafic (HON).. the current one is just fine ....

nukes do no damage?
I lol at this.
most champions have roughly 2.5k HP at level 18, tanks are a great exception here.
must nukers do about 500-700 with each nuke.
but Spell Resistance is powerful.... but SDPS is actually really high.

the need to put together a decent engine to support the game first.
but things can happen very quickly none the less.
at the same time, valve, expect to pay.
