Centaur might have the hp, but Tide has shell. In longer games, it's quite easy to rack up 600 damage and purge the buffs that eat away at you.

I just get one level of shell. Cause when I look at it the damage reduction only helps against creeps hardly against heroes at all. So I just take it to take out buffs.

I'd say Tidehunter out of that list... although do rather enjoy the Centaur... and Magnus... and Slardar...

actually i like all heroes.

In terms of taking damage, Centaur wins, but in terms of being a good tank, Tide wins.

hmm...for the sole purpose of tanking, I would say centaur because of the overall str gain and return and the spammable aoe stun. for being tanky and best potential..id say magnus cuz of his aoe dmg and target steroid for team use.

in late game its tide cause in late game shell>GF(great fortitude)
in mid game its cent cause in mid game GF<shell

the part i love most,
EXPLANATION:

early - mid game, the battles are usualy short and nuke dependant SOOO more hp is better tanking in mid game
late game, the battles are long and usualy physical dmg dependant SOOO more armor and dmg reduction is better tanking in late game

i go for tide if in a proper team.. if not in team go for centaur.
y tide? he have a larger AOE of stun while Centaur have just a small AOE.
Tide have slow + damage, Centaur have double edge.. slow + damage is better

Tide imo. Shell makes a big difference but I max Gush and Anchor Smash, then Kraken after. Anchor smash so you can farm your hood a bit more easily and then you have hood along with kraken shell, thats already pretty tanky. add a shivas/heart/TALISMAN (so gay on fat people like tide) and you are the super tank.

Pudge isnt a tank. He has minimal armor and dies so fast of focus fire.
