jovica: exactly. If meepo has dagger, mek and pipe he can pwn tinker. Cause he wont be able to rearm and wont do much dmg either. If meepo can micro well he can have them run 2 and 2 in each forest. Iteresting thought.

i would say slardar, chaos knight and tb can, everybody with bash i guess.
but if the situation is 5vs5, you normally dont need to fight solo vs tinker, he can buy any anti-items like bkb or ghost szepter anyways. thats why you have so cool heroes like enigma or bane, who kill or at least hold to kill him, before he can do anything at all.

Clearly Troll, void, spectre, or any carry on that list with BKB will own him especially if they have bash (prevent tp). Also a another viable option is if he does do a triple march, just activate blade mail (and maybe if he doesn't notice he use his other nukes)he get pwn, he is gonna be like WTF!!!! -bleep- BLADEMAIL!!! hehe Smile

Tinker > Silencer. Silencer can't kill Tinker in 5 seconds. Guinsoo/Orchid > Last Word. Doom > Tinker. Then again, Doom rapes. GS > BKB. Tinker + GS = Perma-physical-damage-invulnerability. Bashing heroes will fail. Guinsoo has 800 cast range. You won't even touch Tinker.

ok this breaks me
you do not define a carry by his attribute nor from his potential; a better carry is a hero with generally better natural capabilities that allows him to be a potent damage dealer. most heroes do this by either having nukes or strongly combined physical prowess. take example ursa vs void; void has better full potential but such condition is hard to achieve in any standard game where the competence of each player matches. ursa can carry easier despite being a physical damage dealer as void because he have a ganking/farm power through his slow, he does not need to overbuff his physical attacks(overpower, fury swipes) and the way he is encouraged to be built allows him to be a tanker as well. this means that he is a stronger carry in general as; he has the natural capabilties and heavier survival.
as for the tinker case. i would like to remind again, a good carry is measured and defined by his abilities to help his team win a game. a tinker is a strong solo hero; he cant be easily killed thanks to his ranged power and laser(miss), and he can easily take down most heroes in the early game portion. a drow/void/shit on the other hand are relatively useless early as they lack spatial advantage(nukers can deal damage from greater distance with better output) therefore they are weak at intimidating. suppose you say, silence>tinker, this statement is true but before the silence, a tinker would have the greater perspective advantage. laser+rocket combo takes away almost full HP early, and the combo takes less than one second. after that it doesnt matter if tinker is slowed; your hero is now dying and misses most of her/his attacks. in perspective, as long as tinker uses laser, drow lose.
drow is also a weak farmer while tinker has the rearm+march option. he can easily farm up for items to make up for his spell's gradual weakening and he is obviously a better pusher, which makes him a better carry in 1v1 comparison, as the game isnt about kills, you win when the throne/tree goes down, and tinker is more adept at that.
as for now, i would like every person to drop arguments regarding a hero's strength by defining it from only a spell or potential viewpoint as done on silence vs tinker case. global silence prevents spell usage and it counters tinker but you seem to be forgetting about the remaining 4 heroes and their combo efficiency. if silencer dies first, the prospect is broken and therefore tinker>silencer. tinker is also a stronger ganker and laner in comparison, and still farms better
