2 questions about SILENCER

hi everyone,

question abt SILENCER last word.

Do manual-casting attacks like DROW RANGER frost arrow/ENCHANTRESS impetus/OBSIDIAN DESTROYER arcane orb/VIPER poison attack activate last word? Does it silence them?

question abt SILENCER's best allies.

yeah, who works in synergy with his skills? I asked this bcos I think he can't kill 1v1.

dont think so and and best alllies for this guy are poison or other slows cause his attack dmge is great just cant seem 2 attack for very long

i think any hero can be a good allie.... and yes he can kill in 1vs1
just buy him dagon..

Thx bibo1990, _noob28_ abt the 1st question. Just need a little more on question 2. Cos i find that having no disables (silence apart), no stuns, he can't really take down his enemy 1v1. Got owned by witch doctor bcos of that mayb im not good enough...

hmnn?! Last word will take effect once the enemy uses a skill, he will be silenced depending on last word's level regardless whether it is casted automatically or manually.
-any hero will be great if paired with nortrom. A basic example is SandKing...

how about bone clinkz's autocast Searing Arrows?

If I remembered right, in one of my games silence didn't shut down clinkz's searing arrows (I used traxex then and later ended up wondering about that in the fountain)

DROW/DEATH PROPHET/BLOOD SEEKER/DOOM BRINGER/ETC... silence spells shut down autocasts (searing arrows included). Though no replays to prove it. The same thing for SILENCER's global silence.

The thing now is, his last word. Since it's an ability . And do autocasts fall under the 'spells' cf. the description in last word?

And rgds question 2. I don't think he can win just by glaive-harassing or super-silencing for 9 secs. In my experience, they just run away & wait for the silence to finish. Thus an ally.

Pls submit yr opinions as well. Thx.

weel i'm not sure but obsidians arcane orbs defenetly doesnt get silenced for sure and good allies are like i said slower and stunner how about vengfull swap stun and u silence so no windwalk or blink and u attack like cray if he get 2 far just stun again + vengi aura +36% dmge =gr8

i think if you cast the spell not on auto cast it gets silence if it is on autocast then it dosnt i think

Slayerofbill is correct on silence spells . If u turned [manual-casting spell] on autocast, it will still be active. If u didn't, then it won't. Like pudge will keep rotting if u cast silence after he rots. Last word seems different from that.

Question2
Anyone with suggestions on SILENCER item built, good allies? There's only one strategy on him here, im not a pro, so i think more variations are welcome. Another one (and the only other) guide i saw advocated:

-max out glaives (lvl 1-7)-> stats (lvl 2-9, 17-25) -> last word (lvl 12-15) -> global silence (lvl 10,11,16)

-item built: mekansm, euls (->scythe), BoT, linkens, necronomicon.

-most powerful ally: CM (CM blinks + frostbite, SILENCER global silence, CM freezing field)

Guinsoo will be a good item for him because it gives intelligence / int's resource (regeneration) and also hex.

Good ally will be ogre magi, because of his stun,blood lust and ignite skill, Oh! and also add luna moonfang and Traxex.

Nobody can go near you, if they use skill they are all silence by the last word plus traxex got silence (and true shot aura for damage ^^) and luna moonfang can damage them hard with an eclipse (and she got also an aura for damage).

Thx 4 yr reply 4 both questions. Just 2 confirm, does 'skill' includes autocasts?

I think question1 can be closed soon. Awaiting yr confirmation ExG Tamahome.




If there are more suggestions on question2 , u r most welcome.



Seems now he's not very popular in pub games (unlike razor/SK/viper), mayb that's y so little strats on him.



PS: the one who wrote the strat i saw, his name is inDe_eD. If anyone saw that strat, pls do give yr comments as to whether the built proved effective. Sorta resolves question2 in a way.

Synergy to his skills?
Anyone with silence.

But that's not the point of Silencer.

You get him to hinder the combos of the opposing team. Anti-synergy FTW.

If you want to kill with silencer you should learn how to Manual cast glaives. Glaive>move>glaive>move>glaive>move.
Last word won't silence if the opponent cancels the animation.
EX: Crystal Maiden does frost bite and moves immediately without waiting for her wand to move around will not get silenced by last word. This is the reason why people don't get silenced by last word when they are casting skills like impetus because usually they'll move and cancel the animation.
