official rules, 2v2 or more = random hero?

Hello, Im new to these forums and DOTA in general but ive found this to be a great rescource already. Me and my brother were going to play some friends and were wondering, like battlenet games seem to do also, whenever there is more than 2v2 does the game automatically assign you a random hero? Because this seems to be the case judging from the few games ive done over battle.net, however this might just be a game mode that im not aware of.

Well.. -ar automatically gives you a random hero.

Actually no it depends on the game modes. There is a sticky about them in the Questions and Answers subforum. -Ar (All Random) is probably the most used game mode. But you can also join -Ap (All Pick) games with more than 2v2 and get to choose your hero. Anyways check out that subforum and have fun and stay active Smile

Hi, welcome to DS! Yes, it's a game mode that maybe u didn't know. '-ar' (means ALL RANDOM)
