Vanguard or HoD For Pudge?!?!

What do you think is better fro pudge HoD or Vanguard

i think its HoD beacause vanguard is made for farming heroes, but i will get vanguard if im fighting creeps a lot with pudge(defending base)but i normally just get HoD( Hood of Defiance)
So uh what do you think about this
which is better and why?(for pudge)

Hood of Defiance, twice the hp regeneration, and spell reduction is needed more than vanguard's physical damage reduction.

Hood of Defiance... It reduces the damage you take from using rot.

get the hood, good regen, and good magic reduction. that magic reduction is needed so you can take less damage from rot and because you can't rush aegis any more :[

I wouldn't bother with the Vanguard since after Hood I would go Heart instead.
