Besides the lifesteal Satanic has an ability called death pact which will heal you with the expense of killing a friendly creep unit.

Satanic is really great item as it will give you HP (healing) as much as 23% of your damage to your enemy. Besides that, it will give you an ability to sacrifice your allies unit (not hero or ancient captured) so that it can give 85% of its hp into your hp and 15% of its hp into your mp. Simply the life steel is similar as naix life leech and the ability given is similar as bone clink's ultimate spell.
