Best way to farm...

See I've been lurking around in DotA-allstars forums and I saw like a lot of strats for farming, they even have this creep-denying thing they do (I haven't seen anyone do it in pubbies but I have yet to see in-house games) a lot. To me though farming alone is like so hard and it's gonna be much more difficult to creep-deny I think...

Anyway there's this one tip I read that tells you can keep on pressing 'h' to hold attack and only let go if the creep's about to die. Now I've been doing quite well using that method but I noticed that it makes it much slower for me to get a level up or push through enemy towers when I do that. It gets particularly more annoying if the enemy has already destroyed one of my towers but his are barely even touched, all because of this damned farming I was getting myself into. Tell me, is it just me being a noob and all (I only started playing DotA this month), or is it that I'm just not in the right place at the right time? Like I always get the impression that the other player is better even though he ain't that good.

Can you help me guys? Please give me some tips on how to farm and push at the same time using a particluar hero (particularly one that's noob-friendly). Thanks in advance, appreciate it.

I'm trying to find out what, but I think that when you use that Hold Position method, you must be...

1 - Careful with the hero you're facing.
and 2 - Be sure to time it right.

I always do that you know, we both use that method. I only time it right. That's the problem. Just time it right, that's all.

About the creep-denying thing, this technique is used to deny the enemy hero to make the final blow of your creeps. When the health of one of your creeps goes red, try force attacking it (push letter A, and target that low-life creep, hehe!)This prevents the opposing hero to not get that creep and gain his greens(money).

Just don't get too overwhelmed by the H method. Keep watch of your enemy. Okay? Good luck! Hope you become one of the greatest DotA player.

forget about creep denying if you are a melee hero facing a ranged hero or two in your lane. just try farming with that technique you mentioned as much as you can and let your opponent deny all he wants..his farming will be affected anyway. better yet, switch lanes with a ranged ally if your opponent continues to deny.

and imho.. creep denying not only denies the opposing enemy to get the golds but also denying them not to get the experience..

and about farming, try killing a lot of neutral creeps instead of hanging around and waiting for your turn to backstab an opponent..

Try to balance farming and denying, I always use the A button to both to farm and deny. Both are very important. As Nidoking stated, creep denying denies your enemy of his gold and experience. That will be at your advantage if your opponent does not level up as fast as you do and is not able to buy items he needs.

yeah... the A button is always helpful..there's a way of farming and on the same time pushing..try attacking those creeps with full health and is not attacked by your creeps..then shift attack to the dying creep..that way you could push fast..then shift attack to your dying creep for deny..

Farming..
in 1:1 games,i intentionally go to a hero-free lane,
and i let the opposing hero do his own stuf.
i go past the front ghoul/treant line ang go head-to-head with the druid of the talon/or the necromancer.
and then i just strike any surviving ghoul,not caring for a final blow..i also use offensive skills on creeps as much as possible,except when i plan to fight a hero.

i dont think holding an attack to get a final blow is cool..
your enemies will have your base burned just before you realize that you'r rich.

Speaking of the final blow, the enemy tower deserves it.

Just stay in the battlefield as long as you can, help your creeps, level up fast, get stronger, continue farming,
push on..
i also think farming is only for prolonged games,
for a player who loves to finish everything as fast as possible, every death counts.

particular hero,eh,wel,hav you tried leshrac,tormented soul.
intelligence type,all skills are offensiv,xcpt split earth,wc can be both tactical and offensiv,
get crazy and use everything,
ask other players for help in building a decent Leshrac.

One thing that I suggest (if it hasn't already) when you're trying to farm is to hold the Alt key to see which enemy creep is ripe for a kill. It's a little awkward and it takes some getting used to. I don't press the H key to stay put because it leaves you at a disadvantage especially if you're a ranged hero, also if you're up against area stunners. There is a specific AOE for banking experience. If you're careless and you stay put too far, there's a good chance you might not get experience when creeps are killed. What I suggest is to keep a safe distance -- far enough that the enemy hero can't harm you, and near enough that you can kill a creep and pocket gold. Just move around a lot with the Alt key pressed down. Make the kill, then move back to a safe position.

Try using heroes like sandking, sniper keeper etc. coz they are excellent farmers, you don't have to attack every creep, you have the skill that kills creeps immediately....if your hero is a melee type like rikimaru, anti-mage etc., it would hard for you to farm if your a noob, so i suggested those heroes. You may use hand of medas, go to neutral creeps lvl5

On a range hero, the melee dance works for me best, it keeps me on my feet. Another thing you can do to deny is to kill your own teammates when their lives are on the low. Not really farming but it does prevent the enemy from earning gold and exp. Just be sure your allies have a 100% probability of dieing.

try buying ring of basilus and headress of rejuvenation this can help you save your creeps so that it can reach the enemy towers.
