Users Locking Topics

Now this is not criticism, just suggestions on how we can make our Online Dota Home better. A few things I could think of is:

Have a user lock option. In a topic, if members vote for it to be closed then it should be. This could be some simply by the rating of the member. Based on whether the are First Blood to Beyond God like. It would require getting to 100 points. Each member can vote to lock a topic only once. So it would work like this, based on the rating, their vote would have more point behind it.

First Blood - Adds 1 point to lock thread
Killing Spree - Adds 3
Dominating - Adds 5
Mega Kill - Adds 7
Unstoppable - Adds 10
Wicked Sick - Adds 15
Monster Kill - Adds 20
Godlike - Adds 25
(Not sure if there is a Beyond Godlike rating in DS, but if there is) - Adds 30 point
And if you are a mod or admin - It would just be an instant 100 points

This would allow for silly topics to be shut down, making it easier for our beloved mods, and also for some question and answer things, the simple question will not be answered by 20 different people, but rather, would work itself to be closed on its own rather then having 20 answers posted on it. The different points based on ratings would allow more experienced members, who would have a better insight on whether or not a topic should be locked, to lock it faster.

This is Actually A Pretty Good IDEA , But I Hope That Drew Will Have Time to Do This , It Would Really Be Helpful To The Mods

hmm... good.. just add in that mods can ban/warn those who abuse it so our newly gained powers wouldn't be, well, abused.

Nice idea. It will take some time for this to become a reality.
It might also be subject to abuse, so we might have to tweak the system a bit.

Haha ya I love them, dont you? They work had.

It would not be able to be abused, because by the time someone gets to mega kill, if they are bad for DS, with the new ban rule, they probably wont make it to a high enough ranking. Also with the ability to give out warnings on abusing it, people wouldn't. I don't think it is that abusable

A better solution would be to hire more mods. Giving the ability to lock topics based on post count alone isn't a good idea.

if this gets done, we shold b trustin in the good judgmnt of ppl to not close a topic just coz they want to. but hey its a great project to b started n refined, with a few (mayb a lot of) adjutments this could end up in something good. Keep on with the good ideas!!!!
