I would suggest hitting one creep a couple of times first before you go and wait to get the last hit or deny. That gives you an estimation of how much life is removed from a creep with your attack.

Chen the farmer
Posted: Tue Jun 05, 2007 3:31 amI think Chen is an excellent farmer and denier in the early game...
Max out the "convert creep skill"....then convert enemy range creep...
Try it...

Doing that will deny you of one creep. I sugest converting neutrals.

yah true ... converting enemy range creep is = to being denied.....but if u can use the converted creeps well, the benefits(boosted farming and denying) will outweigh the harms (being denied at most 3 creeps)--|-| H |-|-- wrote:

(Ok i know this is a little off-topic. Chen is a good last-hitter with his power neutrals but it's the above comment that is contentious.)
I don't want to flame anybody but do you know what are you doing? You are shooting yourself in the leg 3 times, all right? If you can convert enemy creeps why can't you convert neutrals? Why settle for a 310-hp Necromancer when you can get a 1100-hp centaur who has better base dmg than the pathetic 'ranged creeps'? You want to last hit/deny right? Why should i harm myself 3 times 1st when i can totally avoid that and benefit myself just the same?

Im a fairly experienced player and was wondering about the experience gains the enemy hero gets when you deny a creep. I first thought that denying prevented them from getting the exp, but ive noticed on several occasions that this may not be true?? for example ive wiped out the enemy creep wave and the enemy hero begins to retreat and while he is running i kill a creep that is in red and i c the enemy hero lvl up. or when i am retreating and i c a creep denied i c my exp go up or i gain a lvl?? is this due to sumthing else that maybe i am not seeing or does denying just prevent them from getting gold and not exp??

The enemy hero does indeed gain a small amount of experience when he is denied, but it is less than that he would gain if not denied. Ranged heroes receive even less experience when denied than melee heroes do.

Yes.That's why deniying is very important early game...
You must farm and don't let your enemies farm....
