She has crap hp and is item dependant....
So it should be your priority to harass her early, try to kill her (if you have the chance but don't base yourself on it unless you are a nuker) or send her back to her base....
This will slow her down in the making of her items which is mainly why she pawns so much.....
Remember, Spectre is a late hero so you should take advantage of her early, OR you could play a stronger late game hero like faceless void or jahrakal....

spectre..
Posted: Fri Jun 15, 2007 6:22 amdepends on his enemies and depends on his teammates..
mercurial is really very weak early, has poor farming capabilities early.. slow atk spd, slow move spd.. poor in everything...
if his enemies are nukers or great harassers, he is no match..
he can survive only if his teammates can damage enemies enough for him to kill with his haunt, plus dagger, then chase, he gets gold and lvls up from this.. upgrading desolate depends on the situation, like i said, if you have great teammates that can damage your enemies massively, then go for desolate and haunt when your enemies try to run..
i'd go for radiance early and s&y, mkb.. when you already have this, it's already late game, since mercurial is so hard to build up.. be an early killer.. to gain gold and down level your enemies...

Agreement with the ownage of spectre
Posted: Fri Jun 15, 2007 7:15 amFirst id like to point out to everyone that Mecurial (spectre) is a woman, and its like a dagger in my nerdy heart whenever somone states otherwise.
. Anyway, i agree that spectre is weak early game and this is why she seems so imba late game. The problem is with heros like this: mortred, riki and so on, is that they are only balanced and take mega skill and teamwork to play in normal games as aposed to -em games. Icefrog and the many geniuses who built the hero frameworks balanced the heros on normal gameplay. This is why mid-late and very item dependant heros seem broken or "imba" when played in -em games.
Dispite this, in normal games i like to play HER as a tank early to mid game , so she doesn't get ganked and can be good at turnarounds. (my speciallilty) there is nothing better than when a nuker chases you back behind your tower when you have 100 hp only to block and dispurse their nuke and attacks and pwn them !!!
spectre = my favBack to top
