Hey, being a graphic designer I'd like to share some words of wisdom with those of you who are dabbling with avatars, sigs and art here at DS.

The first thing I'll advise you is to get a good image editing and manipulation software such as Adobe Photoshop or Macromedia Fireworks. Fireworks is decent, but to really get in the game, go for Photoshop. Now there are a ton of free tutorials available online that can get you started, but try to focus first on the concept of layers and the basic tools available in the toolbar. It is also important to know the difference between image formats. JPG or Joint Photographers' Group, is the format of choice for photographic images because of its excellent compression that keeps the file size small. The GIF format (Graphical Interchange Format) is mainly used for text or vector based images (like buttons, backgrounds, logos and headers) while PNG (Portable Network Graphics) is flexible enough to be used for both. The acceptable file size for any speed conscious graphic artist is about 30kb or below. Try to keep it as low as possible. Try 15kb or even lower. If your image is big chances are it will make page loading a burden and eat up unnecessary bandwidth.

I am making available Dotastrategy's official logo for you guys to play around with. It's in the PSD format (PhotoShop Document) so it can be opened only in Photoshop. If you want your sig to blend in with your message background (like mine does), the hex code for that is #e8e8e8.

Which makes me think, wouldn't it be cool if we had an official T-shirt??

Well, im supposed to be doing my design portfolio, and I'm stuck, so I played with your the DOTA Strategy logo, 10 minutes work.
Pretty much gradient and textures from my design portfolio.

Hope you like it.

hmmm...what about pins?? our 4th year schoolmates have our high school logo on a pin says "I Love Quirino"...i think they ordered it on a shop called "papemelrotti" (is my spelling right?).. don't you guys would like those?..just a suggestion...
