Quote:
What it is
With Hamachi you can organize two or more computers with an Internet connection into their own virtual network for direct secure communication.
Hamachi is fast, secure and simple. It is also free.
What's in it for me
Think - LAN over the Internet.
Think - Zero-configuration VPN.
Think - Secure peer-to-peer.
Access computers remotely. Use Windows File Sharing. Play LAN games. Run private Web or FTP servers. Communicate directly. Stay connected.

Hamachi, in simpler terms, basically allows you to play LAN games in the comfort of your own homes. Picture yourself and your computer inside a net cafe, with others also connected in the same network. In my opinion, this is the next best thing to Battle.net. However Hamachi is plagued by the lack of players to play against! To remedy that, please try their software and install it to your pc.
Installation:
1. Download and save software to your Desktop ( www.hamachi.cc/download ).
2. Double-click on it to run.
3. Go through the installation process, which includes registering a username.
4. Once complete, run the program. Click on the Power On button on the lower left side of the Hamachi window to connect to the network.
5. Join or create a network by clicking on the button with the triangular shape on the bottom right side.
6. If you create a new network, please announce it in the Hamachi Networks forum.
7. To find out which networks you can join, check the Hamachi forums here or similar forums at http://www.alleba.com/mb/forum13.html.
8. When you are in a network, there should be a green light beside the name of the network to signify that you are connected. If not, continue to #9.
9. Check your firewall settings. The main problem is that many computers are firewalled so high that any incoming connections are completely blocked. Popular firewalls include Norton Internet Security, ZoneAlarm, Kaspersky, PC-cilling etc. Open up your firewall software and set the security level to the lowest. Turn it back up after playing.
10. If you are playing in a net cafe, ask the administrator if you can temporarily modify the computer firewall so you can play.
11. If all is well, start up Warcraft III: Frozen Throne.
12. Choose Local Area Network to join or create a new game.
13. If you see no games available or nobody's joining your game, press Alt+Tab to minimize Warcraft. Message some of the people in the same network as you and kindly ask them if they'd like to play Dota.
That's it! If you're still having trouble with Hamachi, don't hesitate to ask. I'll help you out as much as I can.

i've try to play using hamachi server but i cannot see any game that been created eventhough my friend in the same network has created it... can you help me?

i suggest that people post their servers here if they are using premium, you see, Hamachi when free only allows 30 in a particular server, while premium allows 250 or something, why not DS create a premium server and allow players to join and play together? hmm
