I joined the Qualifier tourney, but I didn't get in. So I wasn't able to play in the Nationals.

And yeah, once again, the Great Rule applies to here as well...

Sadly, I don't have Carnophage and Hatred.

Dauthi Slayer, Horror, Marauder and Mercenary are my ony creatures. The rest of the the deck consists of either steroid cards and destroyers. And yes, Dark Rit too XD.

I used to go, when I was still an active player. Haven't played in any tourney since last year. Sometimes I'm compelled to play, the Magic eagerness inside me, but then again I won't be able to use the cards that I would get. So I just don't join the prerelease.

@ Orochi:

A pure shadowy build then, eh? I remember the old Shadow combo of Dauthi Trapper and Dauthi Cutthroat. Hehehe, those were the days...

Ahh yes, the Trapper and Cutthroat combo... Too bad I only have a piece of dauthi trapper.. My fave card combo is the Dauthi Slayer + Unholy Strength + Dark Rit, 4/3 unblockable creature at the first turn >

*woot!! MTG! whoa!

anyway, the last edition that i played was Odyssey.. pretty old huh?!

damn! i really like the Type 1 versions more.. (Stasis, Corrupt, Goblin, Discarder, Land D., Library Discarder...) hmm..

newer versions takes lots of patience to set up a good deck.. and there are lots of restrictions nowadays..

the reason i quit - MONEY!

A lot of my friends who now have families that used to play Magic also stopped. Financial purposes too.

The stoyline has actually swayed from the original. Each block now explores a new plane, ever since Odyssey. I'd also like to read the novels. They're the only novels that I enjoyed, aside from 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea.

@ nidoking:

I, on the other hand, don't like Type 1 that much. Type 2 is more diverse, more challenging, and more expensive in the long run, since you constantly change cards every few months.

The "restictions" are the ones that make the game fresh.

The storyline for the new expansion set, named Time Spiral is set to return to Dominaria, continuing the story after Apocalypse. Way cool. Teferi now gets to be the main character.

If you're talking about the novels, then I don't know any site that has them. The Magic site contains bits of stories, but not in detail. That's why I would always buy Fat Packs of expansions so that I can get novels. Sadly, I didn't have the old novels of the Invasion Block, which was the climactic story for Gerard and Urza.

And can you just believe that they're bringing back almost all the keywords from the previous blocks for the Time Spiral set? Like buyback, echo, flanking, flashback, madness, morph, shadow, storm, and creatures like spellshapers, thallids, and slivers! Yay!
