Read the rules please.
There should be no more a mere 'help' or 'help me' or whatever that similar as subject!
It's CONFUSING !

For those who has made topic with subject similar as stated above, please edit ur post to the clearer one.Stated further what kind of help u need.

What he means is naming your topic as merely "help" when you're asking about how to avoid being stunned (for example) will result in someone like me coming to rename your beautiful topic into something like "help this noob from being stunned!"

Sounds wicked but I cannot guarantee that I can rename your topic into something you like.

Who are you kidding, its not 911 in all countries... 000 for Aus police (shocking I know, I lost so many 911 jokes because 000 sounds shitty).

Topics should clearly state what the problem is, instead of having people come in and discover they have no EFFING idea what to do. In fact, everyone who ends up in that situation should either say "How should I know?", try to help with something completely random, or say "SEARCH FORUM!". Anyone object lol...?

i agree with most of the above, but what we should do, instead of chewing out people who post things like this, is just post the link to this page. imagine some noob posts a thread saying 'Huskar...' and finds that the next 5 comments are 'http://www.dotastrategy.com/forum/ftopic9135.html noob'

About misleading topics, it's not your fault.Sometimes the fult is also on the creator. Well, in the first place you're right, don't post the word "Help!!" It's better to be direct to the point, it leads to a lot of confusion.

@ Shimrra_3 and killmore

the 911 or the 000 you say is the admin. You must seek for them not 911 or 000 or any hotlines you know. Inform them.


The problem is not on the topic. IT just need orientataion or if they forgot, it's not your fault.

Perhaps we could extend this ruling to topics entitled only "techies?" or similar. I mean, it could be anything about Techies; how to play, how to kill, what items, best counter, etc. It could be something TOTALLY DIFFERENT! It could be something we don't know how to solve, yet we go in anyway because we only read "techies?". And someone else who DOES know skips over it for being too vague.
No vague subjects at all, be more specific?

Agreed. outside there is already another topic saying only the hero's name "skeleton king" and it is annoying, i won't bother opening it since the content will be the same with other thousands of topics.

avoid 1 word topic headers and don't follow up with a lame one liner.

example....


Topic Title: HELPS!
Content: Void is permabashing me!!!1!

Comments: the initial title makes you think "whats this noob up to, i really don't want to fix his girlfriend troubles"
thats my response, yours may be different.
then you go and read his 1 liner and think "well no shit, thats what void does"


before posting press the search forums button and key in the words Void and Permabash.

chances are you will find almost 200 closed forums regarding the topic.


having used the search forums button, feel free to then post a thread in relation to the problem (should your problem not be resolved already)

example....


Topic Title: Help me counter void's permabash
Content: My friend keeps picking void in 1v1 and as soon as he reaches level 7 he kills me with the chronosphere + mask of madness bash combo, how can I avoid this?

Comments: the title is straight to the point, you see it and think "that poor sod keeps getting owned by voids permabash"
you then take a look and everything explained, he conveys the point, it is immediately obvious that his friend keeps owning him in a 1v1 with void, how can you help him.
