Discussion: Sange and Yasha

Sange and Yasha serves 5 purposes, which in a sense is a good thing.

1) Damage
2) Attack Speed
3) Mov. Speed(name another item that gives you permanent bonus move speed)
4) Boost in Hp
5) Maim(orb effect)

All for one item slot. I don't think its overrated at all, for 5100 it is a bit much, but with 5 purposes it definetly is well balanced for the right heroes, and I mean the right heroes.

barathrum needs sage n yasha!
rikamaru its his core item Oo!

i rarely buy s n y becasue it could be used money for a slightly better build as i focus on agility hero's, heart of tarasque ect.

but for str hero s n y is all the better!

Something to think about:

If ur a strength hero and ur getting it,

You waste 1,450 gold on agi items, EARLY GAME

That money can be invested into much better items

sNy is way to over rated
usually built for agi hero's becasue of 5% attack speed.
and extra strength whilke trying to buiild the items.

i rarely buy this tiem unless for bloodseeker or an agi tanker like yunero.

well i have read most of the comments on this thread and realize not one of you has said anything about bristleback.

trye getting it for him and see how amazing it is on him,and yes i could sit here and explain why it is and through all the stats at you guys&girls but its a experance thing.

I don't see why everyone seems to hate SnY... It's true, I've seen people get it with Rhasta, but that's not a reason to hate the item...
With only one item spot, it is one of the items that gives the most varied bonuses... The best of them is of course the 10% in movespeed... Quite simply, along with MoM's "timed" bonus, it's the only item that helps you increase movespeed in significant amounts (if you're already fast of course)
Also, it works in almost every hero that's not int to give a little more dps, and it's farming friendly, you don't need to save tons of money, you can just buy it part by part...

SnY is a very much core item, in about 2-3 heros, and @Moogle-taxi Please, dont tell me SnY is a core item for Riki, Purge stick is a core item for Riki.

I think SnY works well with,
Bartharum (his move speed and attack speed goes insane, Bash + Maim, they will find it hard to get away)

Rexxar (Rexxars good attackspeed with his skill will almost tenfold increase the chances of maim, and he also benifits from the movespeed alot for chasing)

Bristleback (Yeah, his attackspeed is soo uber, if you dont maim, your the most unlucky person i know, and + his goo, your bounch to slow there heros down)

w8 about S&Y for Barathrum . . i know i saiD earlier that its a goOd item for him . .

but, is it better to get S&Y rather that MoM for Barathrum, i mean dont they disrupt each other . .

SnY is as everyone said overrated. I see this item pop up all the time.

However SnY is a pretty nice item for what it's worth

although its an orb effect, maim is one of the strongest slows in the game. 10% may seem negligible, but with heroes with godlike IAS, maim procs and is overpowering.

Another fact is movement speed. 10% MS is ALOT. One can notice the difference of how fast a hero moves with or w/o SnY. it makes chasers even faster such as slardar.

SnY may be a expensive item for what its worth. But it provides all sorts of benefits and can fit most Str and Agi heroes rather snugly

i agree that sny should gain a boost,whether stats, attack speed, or even in the ability to attack twice in one turn..that would be nice , and with the maim effect i never see it happen

that is probably you got it with a hero who has crap dps...watch it do wonders on Barathrum, or Balanar...

SnY is overrated simply because of 3 factors

cheap
newb friendly
chase and escape, which is the basic to all dota basics. know when to run, when to go in
