What is there when you enter a room & cannot be outside, though you leave the door open?

When you have thought about the back part of the riddle, then think about the "what" and all the other hints I gave. Have fun solving this one, and don't forget the other ones too!

Riddle 2 answer: A closet! You can stand in a closet and still be inside even if the door's open, case it's inside the house!

EDIT: What's the meaning of "cannot be outside", can't, or doesn't want to? Possible meaning is the fear of both closed spaces and wide open spaces. Claustrophobia?
