Eh, I don't know. It's definately useful, but it looks way too exepensive to be put to any practical application. Hero damage gets reduced by armor, aye? So despite the high attack speed, it wouldn't do as much damage later on as to justify spending all that gold into it, especially since you have to upgrade it four times. In conclusion... strong even for its price, but so expensive that its impractical to aim for early on, and later on it sort of loses its value. More or less a luxury item in 3v3 or lower.

On a random note, this woulg go well with the Circle of Spirit Invocation I designed and submitted, +10 seconds and +25% damage would make it a really powerful object. Too bad neither of the items are real, though.

EDIT: Wait, you said 'the familiar can move around its master in a 500 AoE'. Does this mean that the familiar spins around the hero at that range, meaning effective range (from hero's position) for the familiar is 950 (at level 4)? If so, that alone upgrades its usefulness since it turns the hero into a great hunter.
