What to get as a starting item

The guide to starting items

Introduction: This guide is aimed to help people choose what to buy as a starting item in 5 vs 5 -ap games. I'll discuss early game item builds and how effective they are to help the newbies out there who are still buying boots of speed as a starting item.

Common early game items and how I rate them them:

Boots of Speed 1/10

There is only 1 hero I would recommend having boots as a starting item and that hero is Yunero . This is possibly the worst stating item for every other hero. No hero needs to chase at level 1 (except Yunero), therefore what good is an early boots? Early game is about Harassing, Farming, and Survival and boots of speed does not help you as much as other starting items.

Ring of Regen + 2 Ironwood branches 7/10

This build was the must have build back then before tangooes were buffed. It provided enough regeneration and a decent amount of stat bonuses to boot. Unfortunately Tangooes are now buffed and they are slowly replacing RoR. This starting build is now only viable for people who plan to buy a Mekasm or a Hood of Defiance.

Ring of Basillus 4/10

This item gives such an amazing deal for a low cost of 500 gold however, it doesn't give you one important thing which is HP regen. Too bad actually but this is still a good item when paired up with a nuker lane partner. Just make sure your lane partner is willing to share tangooes if your going for this build.

Gauntlets x2 + Tangooes x2 7/10

This item build gives you alot of survivability early game. This build is best used for strength heroes who doesn't have much skills to spam and plans to make a Bracer later on. The increased damage and hp boost will make it easier for melee heroes to farm.

Ironwood x5 + Tangooes x3 9/10

This item build is for any hero who plans to stay and farm forever in a lane in order rush a big item. Any hero who wants to rush a big item should go for this build because it can provide maximum lane stayability.

Sobimask + Tangooes x2 8/10

This build is strictly reccomended for int heroes who plan to spam spells early game. Sobi can be later on upgraded to Basillus or Oblivion staff and can give you sufficient mana regen to spam spells.

Chicken + Tangooes x2 + Clarities x2 8/10

This item build is used for the int hero who is going to share his chicken with the team. The hero who uses this item build must have great lane control and good survivability since this build sacrifices stat items.

Circlets x2 + Tangooes x2 9/10

The build for every hero who needs to harass, farm, and survive. It gives almost as much survival as massing ironwood branches and all of its items can still be re-used to make Bracers, Wraiths, and Nulls.
