Strybor - The Pickpocket
Range: 300 | Move Speed: 300
Primary: AGI
Str: 17 + 2 | Agi: 22 + 2.9 | Int: 14 + 1.3
Damage: 46 - 50 | HP: 473 | Mana: 182
HP Regen: 0.76 | Mana Regen: 0.57
Attack Speed: 1.29 | Armor: 3

What was that sound? You thought you were the only one in the house! Could it be that escaped lunatic from the local sanitarium? Did he finally figure out that you were the one who framed him for the murder of the quiet Johnson family that lived just down the street?............ NAH, it`s probably just a thief coming to steal your collection of great disco sounds of the seventies.

Description:
In the true fashion of a thief Strybor ran with those of darker souls, but was one of the very few moral thieves. This rugged satyr assisted many on their road towards destiny and helped found a secret band of thieves. In his elder years, he took to the joys of the bottle, seldom emerging to wreak havoc upon the scourge.

Keen Sight
Keen Sight (K)
This skill gives Strybor extended vision of the world around him. When used on a victim, it will tell you approximately how much money someone has in their money pouch. It will also give you true sight of the affected area for a small period of time.
Level 1 - 250 AoE, 0.5 second of true sight.
Level 2 - 275 AoE, 1 second of true sight.
Level 3 - 300 AoE, 1.5 second of true sight.
Level 4 - 325 AoE, 2 seconds of true sight.
Mana Cost: 75/ 80/ 85/ 90
Cooldown: 20
Framework: Amount of gold the affected heroes have pops up above them. Reveals hidden heroes and illusions.
Notes: For balance issues this maybe shouldn't work on wards or goblin mines. This should be carefuly examined so it doesn't become too powerful counter for certain hero types.

Hide
Hide (I)
The hide skill allows Strybor to use his stealth to remain perfectly motionless in a room, becoming effectively invisible. If you move, you'll be noticed. Stealing while hiding may improve your chances of success.
Level 1 - 25% extra gold stolen
Level 2 - 50% extra gold stolen
Level 3 - 75% extra gold stolen
Level 4 - 100% extra gold stolen
Mana Cost: 100
Cooldown: 12
Framework: Similar to Lanaya's Meld. If you steal while under the effect of this skill, the extra bonuses apply.
Notes: Casting Keen Sight shouldn't make Strybor visible, but casting any other spell should.

Nimbleness
Nimbleness (N)
Nimbleness is the ability to quickly get out of the way when someone is trying to hit you. The higher your nimbleness skill, the less you get hit.
Level 1 - 10% dodge
Level 2 - 15% dodge
Level 3 - 20% dodge
Level 4 - 25% dodge
Mana Cost: N/A
Cooldown: N/A

Steal
Steal (S)
This skill allows Strybor to steal gold from someone else.
Level 1 - Steals gold equal to 10x the difference between the heroes agility and Pickpoket's agility.
Level 2 - Steals gold equal to 12x the difference between the heroes agility and Pickpoket's agility.
Level 3 - Steals gold equal to 14x the difference between the heroes agility and Pickpoket's agility.
Mana Cost: 100/120/140
Cooldown: 120
Framework: The effect is same as the one Hand of Midas does.
Notes: Note that although Steal is generally a melee skill, it should have some small range , just to simplify the synergy with Hide.

Discussion:

I don't really know if someone else had the idea of having the thief character in Dota, and i don't know if character like that would be imbalanced, but i decided to post it anyways.

Synergies and skills are pretty much self-explanatory. Hide, Keen Sight on enemy heroes to determine who has the most gold, Steal when someone is in range and run away asap (Nimbelness should help you here). Also, there are some interesting strategies that come to my mind, like hiding in front of enemies secret shop, making them really hate you.

Pros: can devastate enemy economy, and lead your team to victory

Cons: low hp, item dependant (you need to boost that agility to be effective)

This hero is designed to be weak harasser early game, but heavy dps-er late game, once he buys enough items to boost his agility, which shouldn't be that hard with the amount of gold he'd have. There is also a possibility (for balance reasons) to make his primary attribute intelligence - which would still make him very dependant on agility items, but would remove his dps aspect late game - moving him more towards "support" hero role (the idea is that a thief should steal, not kill).

How to counter a thief?

Wards, stunners, disablers eat him for breakfast, due to his low hp and lack of any offensive skills. Also, because of the mechanics of his ulti, agility heroes should be more or less unaffected by Strybor. There is another thing - simply try not to walk around with large amounts of gold.

Also, note that skill ideas are taken from the mud i used to play (called The Two Towers), and were adopted for Dota enviroment.

thief hero huh??

ok that's unique, but that's not something dota would consider i think..

getting gold maybe, but if the stealing would affect the target's gold, then that wouldn't be fair..

i mean he could buff up any of his teammates while his enemies remain poor and weak..

plus, i don't like heroes with no damage at all..
and i don't live on items, just pure hero killing power.
