Transition from EM to NON-EM.

The transition from EM to NON-EM for me was very weird and even though i owned EM games, i couldn't get buff in NON-EM games. I didn't last hit and never got items. What was it like for you? Are you still playing only EM?

Note: i am not trashing EM i actually play it a lot still.

i tried only -ap with spec and to tell u, it sucked so bad, i only had boots and a few branches even after 10 minutes >_< i'mma go to non-em only when i'm really good at last hitting

A good trick is always type -di in beginning of course, but hold down alt and sort of patrol back and forth and wait till your creep is low or theirs is and then go in for lasthit/deny. This is the basic way to do it, and practice it a lot when you play EM. Once you can last hit well, start farming like mad in EM games, once you're getting treads HoT and vlads in like 22 minutes and slaughtering the opposition, switch it up to non-em.

I recently started to play ap more often...and i realized that as a str hero the game is fun..
For late game hero's its ideal, like Mortred, coz u can make MORE mistaks in NON-EM that EM, basically bcoz game is slower.

But yea, i like it better...unless im running against time and craving a dota Wink

yea i make my hero walk around but the bit i hate the most is when the heroes perform the attack animation because that's usually really slow cause at like level 1 everybody's attack speed sucks and that's what screws up most of my last hitting. the only hero i can last hit properly with is PA Laughing

Hmm, never had a transition because I hardly play -em..

My friends who introduced me to DotA warned me not to play -em cos they said that I would find it hard to go to the non-em games that most people usually play in pubs.

@ omelette Get used to animations, figure the time it takes em to get there.

@Amp Thats good they told you that. I tell my friends to play EM cuz its good for beginners. One of my friend however plays some -ap and hes total noob and feeds.

i never even tried -em since that won't really improve my skill like -ap and aside from that it's too easy to own there ain't no fun

ive never played em.. believe it or not. usually play -sd . and yeah it does get tedious and i do wish for faster money and a faster game in general . but its all good
