priority of stat items over 'other' items. Other stuff too.
Posted on Fri Jan 22, 2010 9:22 pmOk so bascicly when i play i cant give up stats for anything.
Take sf for example: I enjoy playing him but as we all know he is a very soft hero so i like getting like treads (str) 4bracers and bottle.. then when i have enough for a dagger i will sell the bottle to take the dagger.. Now should i sell the bottle or one bracer ? Selling stats over a bottle breaks my heart !!I also sacrifice having bot for the 10 str from treads ... but what i see alot of players do with sf is just farm mid and get naked bot + bottle this works in pubs but seriously do you guys think this will work with good organized enemies ? were there is so much team work and you will get ganked so easy. i know you get a bkb and stuff but you will get demolished before you farm that and really should sf farm so much ? i mean he is a nuker and raze dominates eary- mid game, so why do so many people choose to farm and get some good items and just hit ? and im not talking about games were you NEED to win (comps ect..)
DOes it have to do with playstyle ? I like playnig a gank orientated sf and i tend to to very risky things ( blinking to raze ect in a group of heros) but when you do this agaist good players they will be ready for you and just stun hex impale you and your.. gone.. but when you have around 1300 hp it changes things..
Also when ever I dotah i tend to buy 4 nulls, bracers, wraiths @_@ this works really well for me but people tend to shit talk me about it.. what i want to know is, is it a noob thing to do ? i mean i cant imagine my hero without at 4 early stat items ! take storm for an example ill always get him 4-5 nulls
but it gives a good amount of damage mana ect.. then i will work my way up..
So what are your opinions on this dudesss ? any of you glued to stats like me ?

bottle > bracer
SF is fragile but very versatile SF is meant to be played SAFE
for me more than 2 stats item is useless because:
boot + 2-3 stats items + bottle/wand/any regen item + teleport = inventory full

what do you mean as 'safe' ? if you mean playing safe and farming while controling your lane.. thats kind of boring and you can pick a hero like troll if you want to farm and carry...
actually yes you just have to add ganks and the only way you don't play him safe is when you blink in BKB ulti =)

Travel SF isn't a pub build, it's a league build.
Sf is supposed to farm all the lanes with bottle + razes + travel, then you rush bkb + ultimate orb, in order to build manta.
Ganking with never only if you are sure you can kill the other hero ( runes, stunner allies, retarded enemy).
SF is very item dependant , that's why you need to farm farm farm, i usually end with 200-250 cs with him, which isnt hard, since you have your razes.

Noobs don't like buying something then selling it...when someone masses stats items they tend to call them noob...what i like to do is tease the idiot who has a 0-7-2 lion with boots of speed and barely a dagon in his inventory, when i have a 3Xbracers, Pt and linken Kunkka owning the game with 6-3-12...
I don't use teleport, i like walking...helps build up legs
...but srsly, tp scrolls as a safety measures never seemed good to me, since good map awareness helps more than a last-sec tp.._________________

ok felix you didnt understand the use of TP scrolls ... i almost only use it for lane switching it gives mass gold + exp =) (or ganks)

But his sooooo soft ! how can you just rush bot ? if the game turns 1 sided just a bit your GONE! lion + haste/invis = dead ghost.. bot wont help you there. also imagine a hook\shot or arrow ? your gone...
I mean should you really give up ganking with a hero who can gank so well to just farm ? what the point of playing sf ? to rape with razes or to rice ? even if you do farm you still get shut down by a semi famred sylla or spec.. im not talking about leuge games here just public games.

I know about the lane switching, but taking a 15-30 second walk towards the other lane (maybe even getting your sites on a rune) is much better than paying 135 gold for it once (things change if you go from top-bot)...

No no no i dont think you inderstand what im saying ! this is not about leauge,ih or comps its for pub games..
WHY! do you pick a hero who requiers skill to use and instead of ganking and getting better at it and looking 'pro' you choose to be a scrub and farm ? (this isnt directed at any of you) If you want to farm pick alchemist or bristle back. Quite honestly a ganking sf if much more effective than a ricing one... infact a BB with traeds hood rad will carry much better then a manta hotd bot sf.
ANd no 1 say im oftopic ! this thread is half my obession with stat items and 2nd half me raging at scrubs!!
No seriously the way i see this is like farming with lion... if you farm he still is effective but your team is better of with him ganking

Why pick SF because he can deal massive AoE damage o.O, if you have a Mag on your team then you can easily hit with all your shadow razes and hit with your ult. However; i do agree with you somewhat on the idea that Ganking is much more effective than farming. In some cases this is true, in others it is not.
Also ganking requires skill more so than farming, more action, more hotkeys, more visual disturbances. While farming just requires last hitting and map awareness.
Eh, if BB lanes with SF then SF wins...
Anyway I can see the point your trying to make and on some levels I agree with you.
------------
I personally would sell the bracer rather than the Bottle. IMO if your confident in your ability then I'd rather get blinker > ult orb as a first item.

I actualy meant bristle out carries a sf at the start of late game.. even later on depending on items..
what i dont think mose people dont understand is sf as a carry hero is not that great. If you want a carry pick juggernaurt. can farm early and kill and EASILY carry late game and kill sf in one omni and a few hit late on.. But what im also saying is why pick a hero that requiers skill and timing when youll just farm with him and hit late game.. ITS SO BORING.. and especialy for a pub where you want to just mess around and have fun.
