Play dota with home pc?

How to play dota just with my own pc. Because I want to fight against the computer?

I already downloaded an Ai map. And put it in the maps folder.
But when I click lan(of course, i dont have lan), or custom game. It just goes back to the main menu.

How could i play it in my own home?

What version of warcraft do you have?

What i mean when I said when I click lan or custom game. Is that I was able to open them but when I chose the dota map. And click start game It just goes back to hte main menu

Ah. It is a version problem.

You need at least version 1.18 to play DotA.

[I'm assuming you still have 1.07]


EDIT:
Yes, we know it's WCIII:TFT, but what we need is the version, not the installment and the expansion.

Make sure that your WC3 version is updated. Download the latest patch of WC3..

Go to Blizzard.com support page, download version 1.20c, then play.

after downloading v 1.21 and installing it. Now it's saying that i insert cd even if i have the cd inserted
