Everyone says about denying but no one explain about it. I'm beginner. So can anyone help me?

Denying = killing yr own creeps/soldiers
Purpose = no gold & experience for enemy hero.


how to deny
-when yr creeps have very low hp (red bar/nearly no bar), press 'a', then left-click on them. Yr hero will attack that creep causing it to die. Allied creeps can be attacked when their hp is below 1/2.

Normal attacks using right-click will not work on allied creeps. U must use the above.

ps: to see all units' hp, press 'alt'



how to see if u denied a creep
-when creeps die from enemy attacks, coins will pop out fr their bodies. When creeps die from ally attacks, no coins will pop out.

The best illustration to this is to practise on any dota map. I think there are some you can download here. Use any hero, preferably a melee hero, do the above. In version 6.43, u can enter '-di' in the chat box. It shows a '!' when u deny a creep.

pps: heroes can also deny allied towers & heroes.

Ok...I'll just elaborate what caspian said.

Denying: A purpose to kill your allied creeps or your summoned units to reduce exp gain from the enemy. The enemy will get no gold, and will have -60% (not sure lol) exp gained from the denied creep.

press ~ALT~ then watch your creeps life.. when your creep has a low hp press ~A~ then left click it to your dying creep = 1 deny creep

type -cson to see on how many creeps you have killed and denied...
