Locke Cole the Treasure Hunter

Posted: Wed Oct 18, 2006 4:36 am

Locke Cole is a trail-worn traveler, constantly wandering the lands for hidden treasures, searching for a perfect gift to his fiance, Rachel. One day, while he was out hunting for treasure, the Scourge raided his hometown of Kohlingen and burned the entire town into ashes. There were no survivors, and Locke became extremely depressed, knowing that he wasn't there to save Rachel. Filled with vengeance, he sought for the Sentinel to fight against the evil that destroyed his hometown. Locke decided to join the Sentinel after they have promised that when the war was over, they would find a way bring Rachel back to life...

Sentinel

Range - 100 (melee)
Initial Movement speed - 310
Initial HP - 435
Initial Mana - 145
Inital Armor - 3
Initial Damage - 42-49

Strength - 15 (+1.9 per level)
Agility - 24 (+2.3 per level) Primary Attribute
Intelligence- 11 (+1.2 per level)

Gilgame heart (Passive) -
Receives a small portion of gold for every physical (regular) attack that is dealt upon the Treasure hunter. Gilgame heart does not include Magic attacks (spells that do damage).

1st level - 2% damage is converted to gold
2nd level - 4% damage is converted to gold
3rd level - 6% damage is converted to gold
4th level - 8% damage is converted to gold

Theft Tactics-Passive
The Treasure Hunter is adept at sneaking. It gives Locke increased movement speed and evasion.

1st level - 4% evasion and 5% movement speed
2nd level - 8% evasion and 10% movement speed
3rd level - 12% evasion and 15% movement speed
4th level - 16% evasion and 20% movement speed

Wing Edge-
Throws a boomerang towards a targeted enemy, hitting and stunning him and all enemies in between. Range is 700. 12 second cooldown.

1st level - 75 damage, 0.3 second stun, 75 mana
2nd level - 125 damage, 0.6 second stun, 90 mana
3rd level - 175 damage, 0.9 second stun, 105 mana
4th level - 225 damage, 1.2 second stun, 120 mana

Ultimate Skill - Capture- 90 second cooldown
Blink strikes an enemy, doing damage and stunning for a full 3 seconds. Grants a chance that the Treasure hunter will steal the least expensive item from the target Hero. If there are no empty slots in the Treasure hunter's inventory, the stolen item will fall to the ground, giving the hunter a choice of either destroying the fallen item, or dropping an item of his own and taking the stolen item. If the Treasure hunter fails to steal an item, he receives a portion of the damage dealt during the capture attempt.

1st level - 150 damage, 4% chance of stealing an Item, 50 damage return at failed attempt, 150 mana
2nd level - 300 damage, 5% chance of stealing an Item, 100 damage return at failed attempt, 200 mana
3rd level - 450 damage, 6% chance of stealing an Item, 200 damage return at failed attempt, 250 mana

I decided to switch Gilgame heart from gold per damage dealt to enemies to gold per damage inflicted on the hero. That way, hitting him gives him gold, but killing him makes him lose all that gold...

Theft tactics has been dumbed down as requested..
Wing Edge has been dumbed down as requested...
And Capture has been limited to inexpensive items as requested...just make sure that the most inexpensive item isn't your best...

Initial damage?
HP? Mana? Armor? Attackspeed?

Hmm.. Gilgame heart needs a cap, 'coz if you use Buriza then you'll be too rich.

Theft Tactics needs a BIG TIME nerf. 40% evasion and MS is too much.

Wing Edge is too cheap. A 2 second stun for 105 mana? Too cheap.

I like the last skill, Capture. Pretty balanced and it's a great idea. Good job on this one.

A bit more detail and some nerfing here and there and this will be a good hero.

Do your best.

okay, i'll give it to you in your face!

Your hero sucks.

Did u even think about the skills? gilgame heart can let u get divine reaper as your first item, probably before level 6. 40% evasion and movement speed, bleh. the highest evasion i've ever seen is on mortred and thats 28% without the movement speed. and worst of all your skill capture, i wonder who came up with that idea, cuz if u came up against him, i don't think you'll ever wanna lose your hard earned butterfly or Satanic. even 1% will be so high, why? because in late game thats like 1% to win the game!

heaven (hh) is right about this one atleast!
and the boomerang thingy stuns all units in between as well! Surprised that almost extraordinary, considering the cooldown and the damage. like raigor's first skill.....

for the ultimate, leave the chances at that.... but make it such that if you pick up a captured item, or destroy it, you end up paying 80% of its cost price in gold to the original owner. that'll make it a little bit less imba, IMO. if you don't have enough gold to pay 80% of the cost price, you cannot pick up the item or attack it. simple. And also, it should capture only the cheapest item in the enemies inventory. there, all of a sudden ironwood braches are all the rage...... Hysterical

and theft tactics - NERF!!!

I assume this is the edited version, after all the nerfs.
Skills
1. This is why there aren't many skills that involve gold. With a buriza, you would be getting a bonus of around 35 gold/per 5 hits. That's pretty big. That also means it's imbalanced. assume 100 damage/ hit. you get around 8 gold per hit. You land 15 hits. Thats a bonus 120 gold per wave. Safest you can do is 2/3/4/5 that's 75 gold based on the 1st scenario. It's still provides a constant flow of cash. EDITED

2. I think you should switch the bonuses. A 24% MS increase is too big, but a 24% evasion rate is fine.

3. The mana cost is pretty low, but he has bad INT, so i guess it's fine. Also has acceptable cooldown.EDIT: You upped the cost, that's fine.

4. Wouldn't mug(Also a skill seen in FF games) be a more appropriate name, since you damage and try getting freebies? Keep the snatch rate at 5% all levels. It should also take the least expensive item on the target. Snatching someone's Buriza would be bad. Would irritate people by forcing them to keep a slot for some cheap item(branch?). Need mana costs. I'd suggest 175/225/275. It does let you smack them around for a whole 3 seconds. EDIT: Recoil for balance. Hmm... not sure if that is fine for a 9% of I-get-your-newly-finished-radiance.

Stats:
Still needs initial damage, initial armor.
Str/AGI/INT are fine. Reduce MS to around 310 due to MN boosting skill.
Took the initiative to calculate hp/mana
HP: 150+(15*19)=435
Mana: 11*13=143

Flavor: Final Fantasy Thief. I know the gilgame heart reference from Tactics, but maybe yours is different. Theft Tactics sounds pretty generic. Skills do capture the flavor of a thief. Agile, Money-minded, steals(wow, theives steal).

Overall: I would play this guy just so I can see how many town portals or branches I can steal off people. Needs work, but can be fixed up. Needs icons.
