Here's my silly suggestion about blade mail

Blade mail is a very good item against all melee hero { except mogul}.
20% melee return damage(thorn) is great but its other power are useless 5 armor and 15 damage.
It uses one space and 15 damage and 5 armor are not worth for a space.

So here my multiple suggestion.

1.can upgrade, lvl 2 blade mail thorn is normal ,7 armor and 19 damage.
lvl 3 thorn is normal,19 armor and 23 damage.
lvl 4 ,13 armor and 26 damage.
lvl 5 ,20% to melee and 5% to range,15 armor and 30 damage.

2.changing recipe, plate mail and broad sword and recipe ( 1200)
20% to melee and 5 % to range ,10 armor and 18 damage

3.Can bind with mask of madness.(blade mail + mask) recipe 1300
5 armor 15 damage and 20% melee return which is normal
17 % life steal (normal)
On activating ,you can call it insanity like berserker blood,
100% aspd,15% ms ,20% more damage recipe and ( new) 6 % of missing health damage each 5 damage.

That's all idea I have,if other think blade mail is still good enough,I will not sad or angry but I want something new.

5 armor isn't that bad. Besides, people who get blademails are tanks, so they stack three, get a BoT and then work on getting 2 HoT which take on the entire game usually. It needs no further developement it is good as it is.

I believe that the best idea would be to allow multiple blademails to combine in 1 slot that way people don't have to waste slots massing blademails.

yah fwii's right.... its really hard to put lotsa blademails coz your gonna loose some free slots there for your other core items.......

or. or . or, heres an idea. you have 2 buy 2 blade mails then but a recipie 2 put the 2 together. maybe even 12 armor 45% returned maybe 50 and 40 damge. idk 1200 recipie just ideaers

It's balanced as it is. It's cheap and it's not used often so who cares.

It's not used often because it's a bit weak and slot waste.

Here's another suggestion, make it fuse with Assault Cuirass so you get the best of both worlds, a nice damage upgrade and another passive ability besides the armor buffs. I was thinking something like when a melee hero attacks you, a portion of it's attack power is drained. Any better?

It's not really bad -- I mean it's cheap, and it does its job nicely. It's an extra damage source for a tank, or for a mage or something. What bothers me the most is that people don't seem to realize this is not a weak item in the lvl 4 shop. It's an low end item in a low end recipe shop and it doesn't require a divine rapier to craft. If you carry that idea out, all the other low level items are pointless because they don't really do anything... (ok, maybe I am insinuating carrying it out too much, but still!)

To the thread author's credit, he had the elegance to make it clear that he's suggesting something, not spamming random ideas. I too have felt that perhaps a level 2 Blade Mail was a good idea -- with a little more damage returned -- but that it wasn't vital.

I do agree that blade mails must be made a little bit more "space effective". However, the ability to combine multiple blademails into one slot would be too imba. If a game lasts long, someone could get 2 HoT and like 10 blade mails for 200% dmg return. Pretty much unkillable unless you have a ranged hero or bkb.
