Desolater on Pudge?

Desolater on Pudge?

After years of mainly playing Intelligence/Agil Carry heros, i've become hooked as it were, on Pudge. As it is, i'm relatively new to Pudge and in order to help correct this, have trolled through numerous Pudge guides. I can't help but noticing that few of them reccommend a DPS item on Pudge.

Now my question is; should Desolater be rushed after bottle/bracers/BoS? It seems to synergises well with his other skills, especially Hook + Corruption aura.

If i'm a complete noob, please tell me - but be sure to provide a reason why.

No.. Never put desolator on pudge..
Rush for Cuirras (aspd n armor), HoD or Vanguard, then BoT, satanic, n HoT.. These items can reduce the damage taken from rot,, so it won't hurt you too much..

The reason why you shouldn't get it, is because you're already a crazy killer, and the tool you use to kill is not your dps... It's your combo... So, if you want more damage for the combo, then Radiance is what you want...
But please, burn this into your skull... Pudge kills by his skills, not by dps, the only thing you're going to kill by normal attacking is noobs early on...

get BOT, bottle HOD and hearts. pudge is quite a tank late game and he is needed for his disable at late game. early game you're supposed to get kills by your skill combo and not by your normal attack or DPS through attack items or orb effects.

Yeah. Late game you need armor to tank so AC should do.

Yup, HoT should be first always, and I usually buy just a Platemail if I need armor... It's usually enough, so you don't waste money on ASPD (which you DON'T use)

I was thinking more in terms of the bonus it provides to your team in terms of the Auras. Also, to deviate from my origional question.. >_<
How much use does Pudge see competitively in IH's and official competitions?

Desolator does NOT give you corruption aura, rather a corruption orb..I'm surprised noone picked this up.
Thus only gives the corruption to the hero it actually attacks, not an aoe effect. and since pudge does not attack very fast, it is quite useless. And if you are wanting a dps item, you should get radiance, since the immolation AURA is good with your rot.

anyway for added damage I would go with Radiance and Shiva...

your main role is tanking but some spam is always welcome.
BoT Shiva
HoD Radiance
Heart Heart

thats my final item build.

absolutely useless in league games, pudge is mainly for stomping on pubs or having fun IH

deso only increase hook damage, thats if, you hit him first before you hook

nah deso is useless....just use his conventional vuild which is i think HOT...all you need is to increase your str..Assault is a waste..yes you have increased armor but the attack speed is wasted..it doesn't synergies with your skills...and i also think that str and hp is more useful than armor because

1. armor only reduce physical damage and as a tank,you would not only be damage physically but most of the spells would also be used on you..

for example you have 500 hp and you have 20 armor....finger of death was thrown at you..therefore you would only have about 50 hp left (without considering spell reduction)_..while if you 1000 hp and 5 armor, you will still have 550 hp left..

2. your rot uses hp not your armor

Anyway what i would do is rush HoD and mass HoT's. But now that i've seen ghost mention Shiva's as a possible build... *interest peaks*
