Lich with Midas - WOWOWOW

Midas is really good in 6.52d, on any hero, for any occasion. Using it, one can get gold 50% more than in -EM mode (unless you get midas in -EM also). So I just tried it on Lich, and my, my - I'm richer even than Leshrac who uses AOE to farm.

Of course Midas benefits you if you only manage to farm it in 15 minutes, after that it isn't worth it. Though i don't think it's a problem

Yeah I got Midas under 15 minutes, and the irony is that a relatively poor farmer like Lich is richer in items (and power) than Leshrac who people say is a good farmer thanks to his AOE spells.

thats just stupid?
instead of that you can complete your meka and get aganims quicker which will earn you more cash on hero gold then your midas will.
midas isnt good on ANY hero midas is good on lategame heroes who cant do shit early + mid.
This way they can optimize the farm which they need.
For them it doesnt matter if the item doesnt do much cause they will shine later when midas earned itself back

Lich on the other hand ISNT item dependent and needs his 2 "core items" (meka + aganims) fast in order too help his team out more.

midas only delays this...

It's true the usual item build for Lich is Mekansm and Aghanims, which is what I actually achieved in this game, and I also managed to get a Boots of Travel - all with the help of Midas. Because Lich does not have any AOE spells with which he can farm, you almost always never get to have a Lich with both Mekansm and Aghanims and yet get to support teammates at the same time. It's very difficult. Roamming around map to gank and support - which is what people supposes Lich must do - does not allow Lich to farm anything, even in the farming era of 6.52, which is why Lich is always one of the poorest heroes in any game, and severely limits his much greater potential ever since Lich got several buffs.

I can do both gank and support - and I did - with the help of Midas. Rather than delaying his items, getting a Midas now in fact helps Lich get the 2 main items much faster than if he did not get one. Midas is much more powerful in 6.52 than in 6.48, one reason being the extra bounty has increased, but the most compelling reason for Midas is because you can get a Transmute-suitable creep almost anywhere in this map - whether on the creep lane (Ranged creep), or in the forest. In the neutral camps you are almost guaranteed to get a suitable creep, and this happens because of design - Icefrog wanted it to happen. Now since Lich is a roaming hero he could find such a creep anytime, which makes this item all the more powerful for Lich.

Maybe you'll still reject my explanation but I intend to keep thinking out of the box.

How does midas help u in farming??

cause this: Convert max level 6 creep into gold 25 mana, 100 sec cooldown?

u can use it every 100sec and a neutral gives maxed 50 gold?

I guess it makes sense, (haven't watched it yet), since you're always around the map helping ganks, getting extra money on the way could add up pretty fast... Especially if you get some kills too....
But you need to be fast to farm it... But since you were, it's all good xD
I'll try to watch it later...

Everytime u use it on a suitable creep you get ±200 gold. Theoretically every 100 seconds you get 200 gold from Midas. Add in 100 gold per 100 seconds, and you get 300 gold every 100 seconds - 50% more than -EM. This does not count normal creep kills and hero kills. Another added bonus is the +AS also helps in last-hitting - it's very useful when you have to compete with an ally to get creeps.

Assuming it's a 60 minute game and you get Midas at 15 minutes, and use it every opportunity possible, that's 13500 gold all in all, without hero and creep kills and deaths factored in.

Lich isn't the only hero midas is good for. Tinker makes MUCH better use of the item. Rearm + midas = $$$.

On a different note, does HoM give a % of gold or a static amount?
