Mieczyslaw - Disciple of the Great Blade

Mieczyslaw was originally a smith of great renowned, made famous by his crafting of the Radiating Blade, a weapon said to be second best only when compared to the Divine Rapier (but even then many argue that the line between what the divine could forge and what a mortal had achieved was small). The Radiating Blade was based on older Greater Blades, massive swords, they required extreme strength to use, but required even greater agility to master. Whilst a smith, Mieczyslaw was also strict practitioner of these sword techniques, where one used the blade’s weight to carry his attacks from one to another and as a balance, to perform feats impossible otherwise. The blade itself was eventually donated to the Sentinel to be used in the war, where it given to Purist Thunderwraith, but its power was not made hidden, and during a routine patrol of the warfront, the Sentinel Forces, among them Purist, were ambushed by the Lich Kings minions. Many were slaughtered where they stood, but the main host descended upon Purist who struggled valiantly but was eventually brought down. By luck only given to those favored by the God’s, Purist survived, but to his horror the blade was lost (Purist was from that moment thus forced to use a lesser warhammer in battle). News of the legendary blade’s loss spread like wildfire and quickly reached Mieczyslaw’s ear. Angered that his masterpiece had been so carelessly lost, Mieczyslaw took up a previously forged blade and joined the Sentinel ranks, where he plans to regain that which is rightfully his, and to wield the Radiating Blade how it’s maker had intended it to be used.



Continuous Motion (t)
Utilising the size and weight of the blade, Mieczyslaw lets inertia take effect, attacking faster with each hit. The obvious drawback is that its very hard to stop.

Level 1 - Each attack increases your attack speed by 5%
Level 2 - Each attack increases your attack speed by 10%
Level 3 - Each attack increases your attack speed by 15%
Level 4 - Each attack increases your attack speed by 20%

caps at 200%, when you reach 200% Mieczyslaw casts Flat Edge and counters reset, Flat Edge does not go onto cooldown.

Cooldown: n/a

Notes: changing targets resets all counters.


Flat Edge (f)
with a mighty swing Mieczyslaw knocks all nearby enemies backwards.

Level 1 - knocks enemies back 100, does 50 damage
Level 2 - knocks enemies back 200, does 100 damage
Level 3 - knocks enemies back 300, does 150 damage
Level 4 - knocks enemies back 400, does 200 damage

melee cast range.

Mana Cost: 120
Cooldown: 15

Framework: single target spell, will affect all units within melee range in a 180 degree arc (90 degrees being the target)


Lunge (e)
Essentially throwing his blade without letting go, Mieczyslaw lets its weight carry him along a straight path of destruction. (picks up all units along the line)

Level 1 - Mieczyslaw flys forwards 400 and does between 2 and 200 damage based on how far Mieczyslaw carries the enemy.
Level 2 - Mieczyslaw flys forwards 500 and does between 2 and 250 damage based on how far Mieczyslaw carries the enemy.
Level 3 - Mieczyslaw flys forwards 600 and does between 2 and 300 damage based on how far Mieczyslaw carries the enemy.
Level 4 - Mieczyslaw flys forwards 700 and does between 2 and 350 damage based on how far Mieczyslaw carries the enemy.

traverses all terrain and knocks down trees

Mana Cost: 120
Cooldown: 18

Framework: leap framework, ideally with the hero model lying down with sword extended.
Notes: best used at melee range


Divine Blade (d)
Mieczyslaw likes to polish his blade, it keeps it good, makes it more aerodynamic, most importantly it lets him see his own beautiful reflection when he isn't in battle... Now, he has polished it to such an extent that reflections from light blind the enemy, lowering the chance of them hitting him.. during the day.

Level 1 - gives a 600 AoE, (8.)[12]{6}% evasion AURA.
Level 2 - gives a 600 AoE, (16)[20]{10}% evasion AURA.
Level 3 - gives a 600 AoE, (24)[28]{14}% evasion AURA

(value) = day time value
[value] = day time value with radiance
{value} = night time value with radiance


Mana Cost: n/a
Cooldown: n/a

Framework: white aura of sorts
Notes: does not work at night without radiance.

Bard Man must say, you've captured the essence of this hero quite well, Ghost. It makes Bard Man happy to look upon this well crafted hero. Bard Man can easily see him as a good perma-basher, but Bard Man has one question. What happens if you take Continous Motion, but not Flat Edge?

Anywho, Bard Man may give you a story if he has time, but more than likely, Mango will deliver one first.

well i would imagine its like trying to use nether strike without greater bash.

kinda stupid.
will probably make it do level 1 flat edge if you don't have it, or even better just make it damage you.

a nice little incentive...


random little thing from me now..
..the main problem with the making of the hero was combining speed with the raw power required to use such a large blade..

motion takes power initially and then starts to revolve around nimbleness.
its conversion into flat edge is nimbleness..

flat edge is power when used on its own...

lunge is... a combination of speed and power

divine blade is me trying to beat all the fools who try to use radiance as an agnimhams sceptre replacement.

and naturally the name of my hero has a mystery hidden meaning..
but nothing as lame as finish in Latin
x.x

pfft.. finish in Latin - the end reaper...
what kind of name was that exactly...
i prefer bible references..
but this isn't a bible reference ^.^
hell not with a czy in the name.

Bard Man recommends a 1 second self-stun if they don't take Flat Edge. Possibly 1.5...

Anyway, Bard Man is glad to see someone understands the physics involved with this particular hero.

Maybe Bard Man will give the best hero for the Contest a heads up on what the next challenge will be...

yeah i like the idea of this hero and i can imagine that one day he will be added to dota but today hes a lil inbalanced and you need to fix some things.
And the skill Continuous Motion (t) remembers me at the hero rexxar?!
