Guide to the Armlet of Mordiggian

Armlet first made its appearance in 6.49

-Turns it into a new item
Gives:
+40 Damage
+25% Attack Speed
+5 Armor
-(35-3) Hp regen
+25 Strength

Cooldown of 10sec
Cannot carry more than one
Cannot reduce Hp to less than 1.

Usage

This item is generally used for DPS heroes (heroes depending on normal attack instead of summoned units or spells) and with attack speed and lifesteal items (eg Mask of Madness)

Instant healing. Activating when HP <475 will make your HP 475 instantly.

Heroes which make very good use of it-
-Huskar
Burst damage help him to kill before the slow from lifebreak loses effect, Helps to trigger berserker blood, has a regen to make up for the life lost

-Naix
Attack speed + lifesteal and a very limited slow

-Lord of Avernus
HP degen insignificant with shield and lifesteal. Has a minor slow, so burst damage greatly reduce chasing distance.

-Chaos Knight
Illusions get the 25 str too when activated before the cast. Not much problem chasing so he just needs some extra damage.

Heroes which make good use of it-
-Broodmother
With high lifesteal, more damage and increased max Hp are very useful, needs a slight boost of HP when at combat, already has a great slow skill.

-Motred
Best equiped with HotD or Mask of madness. Motred has no problem chasing, needs HP badly, needs damage/IAS badly, needs burst to reduce chasing distance/time to reduce risk.

-Typical Strength Heroes (sk, rk, panda, dk, cw, th etc)
Basically adds damage and burst HP for tanking.

-Typical Agility Heroes (Medusa, Potm, Luna, Veno)
Adds survivability, damage. Best used with lifesteal.

-Typical DPS Intelligence Heroes (Furion, Raijin, Dirge)
Same as agility.

Hero Counters:
Armlet is can be used as counter to this heroes-

Venomancer - its annoying to get killed by his poison as you are just about to reach fountain. Activating armlet just before you reach 0 hp helps a lot.

Zeus - Gives you a bit of protection against Wrath in early levels before you reach fountain. However, never let this item reduce your HP too much when theres Zeus.

Some chasing heroes (eg bloodseeker, weaver) Sometimes, they risk chasing to towers just to get kills. Activation gives them a surprise and force them to give up or even gives you enough HP to fight back.

Conclusion and Comparison:
Armlet is a very worth item. Because an activated armlet is almost equal to:
-1 demon edge (2600)
-Almost 2 glove of haste (1100)
-1 Reaver (3200)
-1 HoIW (950)
Total 2600+1100+3200+950=7850
-(-)7 Ring of Health 7x875=6125

You get effects worth quite a lot of gold (i know some item expensive cos they can make into other items but this items combines all of them together) and as you know, HP regen isnt that useful in combats. You dont see CW buying RoHs for tanking don't you?

Its gives 475 Hp whenever activated. 475/35 = 13.5
Meaning, armlet will give you additional HP in the first 13.5. However, the additional damage will allow you to steal more life so the time with additional HP will be longer.

If armlet isnt worth, icefrog wouldn't have disallowed 2 or more armlets. Because more armlet = more IMBA!
