This is the first official thread for the Featured Guide of the month for DS. This month will be the first month we are having this. It has fallen to my hands to organise and carry out this program and see that it does not fail. We intend to improve the quantity of quality guides by giving this little incentive.

This is how it works. You guys create guides, submit them through the Strategy Builder, we(Mods and Support Team) then sieve through them and we pick a few guides that have caught our eyes. After voting, we pick the one with the most votes and put it here, rewarding them for their efforts.

Rewards are:
1) Guide and author get more fame.
2) Fancy badge on top of the strategy(implemented soon).
3) Potential VIP status.

Nevermore - Quale's Unleash The Power

Why we chose this guide?

This promising guide caught our eye as a potential Premium Guide. And rightfully so. It was obviously a guide that had taken weeks of writing and many a day to create the wonderful animated .gif screenshots. Hopefully by making this guide a Featured one, we are encouraging others to also create strategies that are at par with the guide. Indirectly, quale has just raised the 'average-strategy-quality' bar higher by a notch.

Comments:

There are many things that one can learn from this guide. Not only is it newbie friendly but also contains information that is vital to any player who hopes to play Nevermore effectively, be it a pro or a newbie. Though, more emphasis could have been put onto the ganking part WITH team mates. Also, the usage and spammability of the bottle should also be stressed. Alltogether, a very graphic and fruitful guide. We hope to see many more guides like this in the not-so-distant future.

And so after all this, we decided to interview quale about his thoughts on the guide..

Interview

1.) How long did it take you to finish the guide?

5 to 6 weeks, i think... but i'm still making changes to it even after it is published, and i'm even planning to update it tomorrow.

2.) What did you sacrifice to build this guide?

just my time. but it's ok coz it's fun!

3.) What did you feel when you made the guide?

happy, satisfied and excited.

4.) In any point of your guide writing, did you feel like giving up? Why?

not really giving up, more like worried. when i'm at the finishing stage of my guide, i heard from Ghost that he's also creating a nevermore guide and he's discouraging everyone on making a guide for this hero. but i dont want to put all my hardwork to nothing so i continued and managed to finish it first.

anyway, Ghost is now sharing his ideas and materials to me, and permitted me to use these on my next update of my guide.

5.) How do you feel about your guide being chosen? Why do you think your guide is worthy of being the Featured Guide of The Month?

surprised at first, now tensed but somewhat excited of course. i actually dunno know this ' Featured Guide of The Month ' thing. my guide is worthy coz, well, based on the response of the readers, they just liked it and they've learned a lot. my guide has been also a source of inspiration from my fellow DS members to create better guides.

6.) If you were to list out the good and bad points of your guide, what would they be?

this is based from the reader's comments...
good: nice images and animations, well-written and comprehensive guide, informative, good presentation.
bad: too long, cookie cutter item and skill build.

7.) Are you unsatisfied with any part of the guide and wish you could do something else to make it better?

yup, regarding the item and skill build. i just hope i made it more flexible, not fixed. but since a lot of people are ok with it so i'll just leave it as it is. from time to time, i feel unsatisfied with my guide, but then i'll update and improve it if i have the opportunity.

8.) Are you planning another guide? And what would it be?

yes. i have a lot of hero on my mind right now. but i'm stuck to nevermore for the meantime and busy to my work too.

9.) Do you have any important tips you would like to share with your fellow guidemakers?

enjoy while working your guide!

10.) What inspired you to create this guide? Did you get any help at all? What do you feel about DS?

i love making drawings and playing computer games ever since i'm at elementary school. DotA is my game right now and DS is my source of strategy, and yeah DS helped me improve my gameplay. i just felt i wanted to give something big to this site in return. learning that they lack effective strategy to some heroes, i then work hard for a good strategy for nevermore! thanks to DS for approving my guide.
