Skullduggery Pleasant - Shinigami Elementalist [October BC]



Hey everybody! It's me again! Know, when you ran away in panic and only the courageous one left, I present you a God of Death!...at least one of them.


What? Talkin'n'breathing skeleton isn't enough fancy for you? - Skullduggery Pleasant, the Shinigami Elementalist

Skullduggery Pleasant – Shinigami Elementalist
Range : 450 | Move Speed : 295
Primary : INT
Str : 17 + 1.7 | Agi : 19 + 1.9 | Int : 24 + 2.4
Damage : 35 - 45 | HP : 473 | Mana : 312
HP Regen : 0.76 | Mana Regen : 0.97
Attack Speed : 1.63 | Armor : 2

Storyline : Skullduggery Pleasant is a very strange guy - you aren't seeing skeletons elementalists that wear black suits and uses revolvers to fight often, are you? - that names himself "Shinigami Elementalist". This made both his allies and enemies terryfied - even the God of Death (yep, shinigami means god of death) join the conflict?! But Skullduggery was quick to clearify - he said that Shinigami are immortal, ever-lasting spirits that can take unique forms and that they are guardians of order. He also said that their primary objective is to protect those that are good and punish the evil ones. As soon as dozens of evil-doers sided the Lich King and the same number of good heroes stand side-by-side at the roots of a World Tree, Pleasant joint conflict. He uses his mastery over elements, his skills and knowledge of the milleniums to put an end to Lich King's reign of fear and terror.

Okay, we knows know way he is skeleton guy in black suit and still fits the theme. Least I think he fits. Lets see his skills.

Soundspeed Shooting (S)
By covering himself in a streams of very fast air, Skullduggery Pleasant can fire with speed so great that he and his bullets can outrun the sound itself. He can fire 6 bullets from his trusted revolver at once, stopping his enemy in his tracks with a rain of lead. But his gun isn't so young as it may seems and it needs time to cool.
Level 1 – deals 6 times normal damages, each in 0.2 second interval. After this, his gun cools for 3 seconds. For this time, Skullduggery's Attack Speed is 50% lower.
Level 2 - deals 6 times normal damages, each in 0.15 second interval. After this, his gun cools for 2.5 seconds. For this time, Skullduggery's Attack Speed is 45% lower.
Level 3 - deals 6 times normal damages, each in 0.1 second interval. After this, his gun cools for 2 seconds. For this time, Skullduggery's Attack Speed is 40% lower.
Level 4 - deals 6 times normal damages, each in 0.05 second interval. After this, his gun cools for 1.5 seconds. For this time, Skullduggery's Attack Speed is 35% lower.
Mana Cost : 130
Cooldown : 10
Framework : Wind surrounds Shinigami's whole body. Then, he fires 6 times, but he do it so fast that mortal eye cannot see it. After this, he will get "Cooling down" buff for time depending on skill's level.
Notes : Remember Man With No Name (Clint Eastwood) from "Dollar" trilogy? He used to shot very fast - this Shinigami does it even faster, using powers of the air element. Also, cooldown starts when the gun is cool, so the true CD is 13/12.5/12/11.5 seconds.

Rusted Armors (T)
By commanding both water and air, Skullduggery can cover his enemies armors in rust. When rusted, each hit will destroy it more and more, making them easier targets. Rust will be gone after short time, however the armor will be still damaged. If target is killed during rusting of armor, it will loose some of his armor points permamently.
Level 1 – puts a buff placer on selected enemy for 3 seconds. When under the buff, each taken hit will decrease armor by 0.5. After this 3 seconds, armor will decrease no more, but effects will last for additional 4 seconds. Takes 1 armor point permamently.
Level 2 - puts a buff placer on selected enemy for 3 seconds. When under the buff, each taken hit will decrease armor by 0.75. After this 3 seconds, armor will decrease no more, but effects will last for additional 4 seconds. Takes 1 armor point permamently.
Level 3 - puts a buff placer on selected enemy for 3 seconds. When under the buff, each taken hit will decrease armor by 1. After this 3 seconds, armor will decrease no more, but effects will last for additional 4 seconds. Takes 2 armor point permamently.
Level 4 - puts a buff placer on selected enemy for 3 seconds. When under the buff, each taken hit will decrease armor by 1.25. After this 3 seconds, armor will decrease no more, but effects will last for additional 4 seconds. Takes 2 armor point permamently.
Mana Cost : 140/150/160/170
Cooldown : 20/22/24/26
Framework : For 3 seconds (buff) enemy will be covered in brown fog => effect of Drunken Haze.
Notes : There is no cap of armor reduction. Wanna see normal creeps doing 100 damage per hit? Permament armor point is taken if the target is killed whole debuff time, which means 7 seconds.

Pyrosphere (H)
Fire can be seen as most viscious, dangerous and most lethal element of all. So why, I'm asking, why Skullduggery - an elemntalist - would not use it? Fire isn't his most potent element - he's kinda balanced - but he can use it to blows opponent with accumulated inner fire of certain location.
Level 1 – deals 75 damage to every enemy in epicenter and 25 to every enemy on area. Blow moves damaged units a 100 units away from the epicenter.
Level 2 - deals 100 damage to every enemy in epicenter and 50 to every enemy on area. Blow moves damaged units a 100 units away from the epicenter.
Level 3 - deals 125 damage to every enemy in epicenter and 75 to every enemy on area. Blow moves damaged units a 100 units away from the epicenter.
Level 4 - deals 150 damage to every enemy in epicenter and 100 to every enemy on area. Blow moves damaged units a 100 units away from the epicenter.
Mana Cost : 180
Cooldown : 25
Framework : Firstly, a mark just like in Azgalor's Expulsion appear on the ground. Then, after 0.5 seconds, great fires blows up, just like in Blood Mage's Flame Strike. The great column of fire shove enemies aside and dissapear after this.
Notes : AoE nuke that can be used for killing, chasing and escaping. Who needs more?

Stone Prison (N)
Skullduggery always says that power of earth is typical defense power. He doesn't want to use it, but when pushed to a corner, he will even us this last chance force. By commanding rock, mud and stones that forms the earth, he can close any being in stone-solid prison. In this prison none can be hurt, but life processes stops, so the prison slowsly kills the prisoner. Worst of all, evan a Shinigami does not know how long the prison will last.
Level 1 – locks targeted unit in ston prison (ally, enemy or caster himself), preventing it from taking any damage, but making it loose 4 HP per second. This effect last from 1 to 10 seconds.
Level 2 - locks targeted unit in ston prison (ally, enemy or caster himself), preventing it from taking any damage, but making it loose 8 HP per second. This effect last from 3 to 15 seconds.
Level 3 - locks targeted unit in ston prison (ally, enemy or caster himself), preventing it from taking any damage, but making it loose 12 HP per second. This effect last from 5 to 20 seconds.
Level 4 - Aghanim Scepter adds 2/5 seconds of duration to each level and 4 HP drain per level.
Mana Cost : 300
Cooldown : 180/140/100
Framework : Target become stone figure, completly inmovable. It gains 100% damage reduction and spell immunity - it's simply undestructable, save for HP drain.
Notes : That's what ultimate defense really is. Or ultimate gank.

Discussion :
So, we're here...First of all, I'm gald you made it. Now, I would clarify his skills.

1st one - Soundspeed Shooting. It basicly contains 6 normal attacks. Six attacks that can occur as critical, stun, reduce armor...Buy items and start ownage. Also, it synergise quite well with his 2nd skill - grave armor reduction. His 3rd skill - AoE nuke, who doesn't like them? Also, this one can help you in escaping or chasing. And you ultimate...With a bit of luck, they will stand no chance to your precise ambush.

Role of this hero can wary, depending on items you're carrying and from your allies. He can be played as a supporter or as a team's DPS. I would like to show some of the synergies .

Rusted Armors + Soundspeed Shooting
Obvious synergy. First lower their armor as low as you can, then fire 6 normal attacks with your 2st skill and listen to this lovely voice of Unreal Tournament's commentator...

Rusted Armors + Soundspeed Shooting + Pyrosphere
If you did something wrong and they still lives, finish them or just shove them right in your cold, bony arms...

Rusted Armors + Soundspeed Shooting + Pyrosphere + Stone Prison
WHAT?! They still can take breath?! You really fcuked up...Nevermind, just prison them with your powers and wait for your teammates or until your skills cooldowns...

About skill build ...I recomend something like this:

1. Soundspeed Shooting
2. Rusted Armors
3. Soundspeed Shooting
4. Rusted Armors
5. Soundspeed Shooting
6. Stone Prison
7. Soundspeed Shooting
8. Rusted Armors
9. Rusted Armors
10. Pyrosphere
11. Stone Prison
12 - 14. Pyrosphere
15. Stats
16. Stone Prison
And stats.

For items I see to build - DPS build and Supporter Build .

Both involves pair of Bracers to improve his HP, he posseses just enough mana to cast his skills. Also, I think that Power Treads will fit him well in both builds. In DPS build I would try to get Cranium Basher and Crystalys (if you farm well - Buriza). Why? Cause each of 6 attacks in his first skill can occur critic or a stun. If you don't have clean account, think of Stygian to lower their armor even more and deal even more damage. Now, in Supporter build I would bet on Assault Cuirass - he will shoot even faster and have more armor, so he can survive longer. Also, auras are effecitve. Buy Necronomicon for its minions and INT bonus. Mekasm will also help you in tough spots.

His best allies would be guys like Darchrow, Treant Protector, Rhasta, Lion...Yap, I'm talking about disablers. See them pulverized with great force, run to the hills for cover...and take 6 headshots. Heck, they can be evan more helpful than stuners.

His worst enemies are silencers. No skills => No more Shinigami. You do not have tons of HPs and cannot afford to buy items that raises it, so watch out for nukers.

Props:
- great damage deler
- has escaping and chasing mechanisms
- can rape armor
- ranged attack
- decent stats gain

Cons:
- no REAL support powers
- item dependant
- low armor
- low health
- one-hit-wonder, which means skills with long CD

Conceptually brilliant overall, but for the sake of balance I don't think the armor loss should be permanent that easily. Maybe if they die while under the debuff or something. As we've been saying though, concept > numbers.

Yay! First hero that doesn't need major tweaking!

Shim, after some thinking time, I agree with you. Only one thing - it takes 1/2 armor points permamently, ok. It takes it if target dies - and here is the question. Should I do it "if he die under debuff", which means 3 seconds, or "if he die under armor reducted by this spell", which means total of 7 seconds? I would bet on this 7 seconds, but I also want to hear the words of someone mor experienced in this...So?

Very nice.

1st skill- Simple, yet very effective. Quite balanced.
2nd skill- I get the buff placers and all but I just want to ask, is Rust an element? Did you meant it to be affiliated to Earth or something? If yes, then cool.
3rd skill- Sunstrike + Azgalor's Expulsion= this? Nice skill.
4th skill- Nice, reminds me of this Naruto dude. I forgot the name though.

All in all, the skills are pretty nice. The storyline could use a little bit of fixing and I didn't really like the theme and all (in relation to that Bleach Manga). You could be a little bit more unique about the story. Other than that, cheers. I give this hero an 8.5/10.

Rust itself isn't an element, but object can rust because of wet in the air, beacuse of microorganisms etc. So - by manipulating wetness of an air Skullduggery can make armors rust. Plain, natural corrosion mechanism. Heck, I was studing Chemistry on University for 5 years, I think I'm right Smile

And Sunstrike + Azgalor's Expulsion =/= Pyrosphere. This just has it's animations.

Meh, i watched 152 anime's parts. They guy you think of can be those *big* one from Sound Four. He locked Naruto and his teammates in some kinda stone igloo.

Hmm...You say that I should make permament loss after death in three seconds? Hmm...'Kay, just wait for someone else so I can be sure.

Shinigami are creatures that appears in Japanease folclore (am I writing it right?) and in many mangas, with Bleach, Death Note and Kurojijutsu (Grel, Sebastian and Undertaker, never remembered the name...) being only some of them. In my imagination, Shinigami - also know as The Dozen - were immortal spirits that hanuted bodies of normal humans. Humans souls and minds when then send to Heaven and Shinigami were using body as a host. They had this human apperance and their true apperance. Their powers and immortality originates from water of twin rivers - Styx and Acheron. FIrst river gave them immortality, second - powers. Naah...It's kinda long and complicated story, so maybe one day I will translate in into English and post it somewhere. But look out for my other Shinigami heroes, they have yet to come!

Okay, so this is howe thing will be. Rusted their armors, land your hits, and if you kill him within 3 seconds - his armor permamently get lost. Any objections? Any ideas? Any advices? Or can I change this specific of third skill and finally submit him to BC?

No I mean, it's said in the info. about the 3rd skill that it takes an armor point permanently. I mean that is absurd if you play this hero in DoTA.

Like if you used the third skill against a hero, he loses a certain no. of armor PERMANENTLY. That is a big no-no.

Just make it until he dies again. Like if you use third skill on him, and he loses armor, it will stay that way permanently until his next respawn. That way, it's not so imbalance.

So you mean that yes, take this 1/2 point when spell is cast...and this 1/2 armor reduction stays after 7 seconds. And it come back with respawn...Hmm...If there are force strong enough to resurrect someone, why don't they fix armors? It his future...But on the other hand, this skill is make for killing rather than weakeaning. This specific will make Skullduggery's players come out of the jungle, cast this spell and run. They will do it 10 times (260 seconds) and when the true gank will come, there will be no chance to enemy to survive. So I still think that Shim's idea to make it permamently loss if killed in 3 seconds is the best. But I will wait.
