Orchid Malevolence [5600-ish] (if i'm not mistaken):
+25 int
+35 dmg
150% mana regen
+40% IAS

Soul burn:
15% increase damage and silence[5175] (4 seconds)

Guinsoo Sycthe of Vyse:
+25 int
+35 dmg
150% mana regen

Hex:
Disable special abilities (3 seconds)

I think orchid is better IMO but i want to know what you think?

it depends... 15% increase is not that big unless the whole team is focus firing on one hero. The silence is good, but you still have to worry about the damage reduction when you cast spells on your opponent...
Hex, however, takes away the reduction for 3 seconds...
so like i said, it depends.

I actually prefer orchid, coz of its 40% increase in attack speed, effectively fulfiling 2 of silencer's main problems- INT and att speed. But likewise, guinsoo can very much do the same. So...overally, I'd go with orchid coz of its damage amplifier and silence.

this on silencer or harbringer means certain death. +15% is a HELL OF A LOT when ol' harby is pulling out 250+ hits with arcane orb!

in terms of diabling, Guinsoo because eventhough that the unit is silenced, and that certain unit has blink, it will be worthless, while guinsoo, it cost less, and will surely wont allow heroes to blink while in critter form.

for Orchid, it is good amplify and silence, but what if the enemy runs fast, like balanr in the night, it will be useless, + long cooldown and mana cost while guinsoo, less mana and cooldown

i like guinsoo more since i find hex better than a short silence

also, while making guinsoo, u can get a euls which helps in survival

what do u get while farming for orchid? mystic staff and oblivion, both which don't help in survivability and don't forgot costs

so in terms of creating, i believe guinsoo is the better

but i only used orchid twice XD so i don't know that much

imo,the new item is damn imba...of coz i vote for it but then again...it actually depend on which hero....ex...rhasta need hex to easy combo with his skill and silence is juz usless on him..while for lich...imao...get the shiva armor and this imba item plus scpeter and a threead with +10 streght...who can kill you 1 v1?
but yes,lich need this new item more than the hex since 4 sec silence and amplify dmg is useful for him,hex on the other hand useless except use to run away...why i say so? coz his slow can subtitute as hex(well the only thing is your opp can hit ya back X] so skill silence and hit = death

OK, if you got an enemy surrounded, Soulburn is a secured kill, since they cannot escape using spells and they are sure to die with the 15% damage boost (By the way, that disables the inert 15% magic damage reduction heroes have so don't say you have to consider that) That 1 second may change the tide of battle (4 sec instead of hex) and the extra money goes where? Attack speed and that 500 gold I dunno is definately worth the 40% speed. That is why, the burn and the attack speed is much better than hex.

But, hex can be used to escape, so it is more like this

Orchid = Massive Offense
Guinsoo = Offense and Defense

Under most cases, Orchid should be chosen. But people like Darthcrow need hex much more than Orchid. But generally Orchid Malevolance is much better and much better sounding.

It really depends on who you are. For example if you are Storm the orchards will be much more useful however, if you are like Rhasta disabling is better.

for those hero like silencer, destroyer, and other massive auto cast skills.

Guinsoo Sycthe of Vyse
for annoying super dps heroes like VF, razor, magina etc.

If the new item gave 25% damage increase I might consider it. Heroes have 25% magic resistance and 15% seems a little weak.
