Jason Ryla - The Shadowmage

Born with natural magicial abilities, Jason was sent to a wizard academy as soon as he haas old enough to walk. There, he studied for most of his childhood. No matter what he wastold to look upon, Jaso's main interest was shadow magic. An art that many labeled forbidden. However, this did not keep him from learning it. Many a night he would sit alone, envoking spells of darkness and training himself. This did not go unoticed though. the mighty Lick King sensed Jacob drawing on the black arts and sent an undead army to destroy the school and bring the boy to him. Much to the lich King's surprise, the boy did not fight back. jacob aided the undead horde in destroying the school. Empowering them, and draining his teachers of mystic energy. His reason? He lusted for power. Power that only the Lich King could offer him. But how long would he stay on their side?


Dark Mana Leech (v)
A creature that Jason pulled from the shadowy nether realm, The Mana leech is one of his new favorite pets. By opening small holes into the nether realm, he can summon these creatures to suck away an enemy heroes mana and give it to him. Drain Lasts 4 Seconds.
Level 1 - The leech drains 20 mana per second from a target enemy unit. Slows mana regen by 20% for 10 seconds. If enemy runs out of mana, then their movement speed is reduded by 10% for 15 seconds.
Level 2 - The leech drains 30 mana per second from a target enemy unit. Slows mana regen by 35% for 10 seconds. If enemy runs out of mana, then their movement speed is reduded by 15% for 15 seconds.
Level 3 - The leech drains 40 mana per second from a target enemy unit. Slows mana regen by 50% for 10 seconds. If enemy runs out of mana, then their movement speed is reduded by 20% for 15 seconds.
Level 4 - The leech drains 50 mana per second from a target enemy unit. Slows mana regen by 65% for 10 seconds. If enemy runs out of mana, then their movement speed is reduded by 25% for 15 seconds.
Mana Cost: 120
Cooldown: 30
Framework: Blue parasite thing above enemy hero's head.
Notes: This is a perfect way to gain some extra mana if you're running out. It also helps if you run into a nuker. No Mana = No Nuke. =)

Shadow Puppet (b)
Using the darkness around him, Jason summons fortf a dark minion made of shadows. This puppet has no will of it's own and will attack enemies without question. During the day, this puppet is very weak, but at night, it is horrifyingly strong.
Level 1 - Summons a shadow minion that has 200 HP, 0 armor and deals 17-24 damage during the day. At night the minion gains a bonus 100 hp, and +24 damage and Shadow Meld.
Level 2 - Summons a shadow minion that has 250 HP, 1 armor and deals 22-29 damage during the day. At night the minion gains a bonus 120 hp, and +36 damage and Shadow Meld.
Level 3 - Summons a shadow minion that has 300 HP, 2 armor and deals 27-34 damage during the day. At night the minion gains a bonus 140 hp, and +42 damage and Shadow Meld.
Level 4 - Summons a shadow minion that has 350 HP, 3 armor and deals 32-39 damage during the day. At night the minion gains a bonus 160 hp, and +50 damage and Shadow Meld.
Mana Cost: 150/170/190/210
Cooldown: 100
Framework: The puppet should look like a completely blackened ghoul that is about as big as Jason.
Notes: This is a good way to stay away from the action and still get some gold. Hope Y'all like it. =)

Shadow Steal (n)
A feared skill of Jason, is the ability to empower himself with the shadows of the fallen. For every creature that dies before him, he grows stronger, but if Jason himself should fall, he loses all of the shadows he controls.
Level 1 - Maximum damage gain is 5. His shadow puppet gains double his bonus.
Level 2 - Maximum damage gain is 10. His shadow puppet gains double his bonus.
Level 3 - Maximum damage gain is 15. His shadow puppet gains double his bonus.
Level 4 - Maximum damage gain is 20. His shadow puppet gains double his bonus.
The AoE is 450 and the damage gained per fallen ally is 1 for creeps and 2 for heroes.
Mana Cost: n/a
Cooldown: n/a
Framework: An unholy aura surrounds Jason.
Notes: This is like Nevermore's Necromastery. The difference here is, if you die, you lose all the power, not part of it.

Choking Darkness. (C)
An unbearable curse created by Jason. This curse causes untold pain to the foe who is striken with it. The ammount of pain felt by the foe depends on how many shadows Jason wields. With each level this horrid curse multiplies the damage by more and more. 4 second duration. 1.5 second casting time.
Level 1 - A targeted hero takes damage equal to 5 times the damage boost gained from Shadow Steal over time.
Level 2 - A targeted hero takes damage equal to 7 times the damage boost gained from Shadow Steal over time.
Level 3 - A targeted hero takes damage equal to 9 times the damage boost gained from Shadow Steal over time.
Level 4 - (With scepter) A targeted hero takes damage equal to 11 times the damage boost gained from Shadow Steal over time.

Cannot be cast during the day. Spell is canceled out by daylight.
Mana Cost: 200/250/300
Cooldown: 200/185/170
Framework: Choking Death icon in thier status bar. Small Death and Decay cloud every time they take damage.
Notes: You all know doom right? This is a much stronger version with a few hitches, minus the silence that comes along with doom.

Discussion:

Skill Synergy:



Dark Mana Leech: This will drain them and easily keep them from casting too much early on. Late game it will keep your mana pool maxed almost all the time.



Shadow Puppet: This keeps them back, gets a few creeps kills, and chases enemies when they're near death.



Shadow Steal: A modified version of Nevermore's Necromastery. higher damage cap, but a little harder to keep.



Choking Darkness: The true horror of Jason's skills. High damage possiblity, but it can only be cast at night. Hopefully, that balances it out.



Dark Mana Leech + Shadow Puppet
The shadow beats them up while the leech drains thier mana. Double harassment.



Shadow Puppet + Shadow Steal
The puppet keeps the heroes busy while you get more damage from the kills.



Shadow Puppet + Choking Darkness
The damage brings them near death, then your shadow finishes them.



Dark Mana Leech + Choking Darkness
your ult may not silence them, but with thier mana being drained, they might as well be standing next to Nortrom.



Dark Mana Leech + Shadow Puppet + Choking Darkness

An ok Build: Basic Boots, Guinshoos, Agamims, Arcane Ring



Dream Build: BoT, Guinshoos, Agamims, Shadi, Blood Stone, Linkens

Hero Synergy:

Balanar the Night Stalker will be the BEST hero to have with Jason. And he is also a good hero to fight against. Basicly, if Jason and Balanar are in the same game, the guy playing Jason will be a happy camper.

Furion and other trappers are also good team mates since you have some really high damage.


-------------------------------------------------------------Your Worst Enemies:

Your worst enemies are the mana burners. Yes, your leech gives you mana, but it won't matter if you don't have the mana to cast it. Because of your low HP, nukers will be annoying too.

4th skill how long the ulti last on a hero and is it like a dps?

Newbie, yes the Shadow Puppet is permenant. It is just likee Syllabear's summon. As for the duration for his ult, well '4 second duration'. That's clearly stated if you look at it, buddy.

one more question? what is the damage computation i mean if you have 20 bonus damage and your ulti is at max lvl then the damage is 20*11=220 so what is the DPS of the ult bec. it says there

The total unhindered damage is 880, but there are restrictions to this spells use. Plus, if have no shadows, you waste your spell.

try buffing the third skill a little and give the shadow puppet the same bonus , not doubled.. Very Happy (since he has +50 damage at night already)

1) does the first spell drain at lvl 4 50 mana/sec for 10 secs? cause that seems a bit imba, canceling any chance of spam for any hero, and then you hav given it a slow if they reach no mana? which seeing if it does drain 50/sec is a guarantee. perhaps needs a bit of a nerf unless i hav got how it works wrong.
2) heck you may aswell give the puppet inv at nite with a 3 sec delay time, and what would then be cool is if you gav it at lvl 4 a skill to turn day into nite for like 5/10 secs, giving it an escape skill as well as giving you time to cast your ult during the day.
3)3rd skill fine.
4)ult i beleive should hav a reduced cd, it deals less dmg than doom, and doom also silences, plus you hav to cast it a nite. i would make it hav a cd of 60 and 50 with aghnimms. Make it a spammable doom that has it drawbacks (reqires nite and souls).
Overall nice idea.

Thank you for actually giving insight in a calm, respectful manner instead of jusr shuts "HES IMBA! NERF!" Now allow Bard Ma to answer you.

1: No, the drain for Dark Mana Leech only lasts 4 seconds, but Bard Man forgot to but that there. the 10 second thing is how long the target's mana regen will suffer.

2: Bard Man was considering giving the Puppet Riki's lvl 1 ult at night, but he feared making it too imba. Do you really think Bard Man should?

3: Thank you.

4: Wait, this deals Less Damage then doom? Bard Man thought it dealt more. Boy is his face red... But yea, I over did it with that high cooldown. Probably gonna bring that down to about Doom's level... Maybe up the damage a bit.

Anyway, Bard Man gives you his thanks for being so helpful with this hero.

nw gj Smile, but yeh its ur choice, can make it a spammable weaker doom, or if you want you cud buff it caus it is a bit weak atm.
and yeh i wud giv the puppet a mini riki ult, banes gay bashing wolves get inv, and i think its with a 1 sec fade time, or at least it seems like it. plus 1 more thing i forgot to ask, how fast is it? if u make it really fast, then maybe u might not want the inv but its current meld, but if it slowish u may consider giving it rikis ult. Then again its ONLY at nite so it might not be that bad either way. ur choice, it's not imba imo atm.
