eos and other items wit an orb effect

why is it a ranged eos isn't considered an orb but a melee is? and why is it not the same for all other items?.. it would be pretty cool to have manta with its mana burn and Stygian Desolator's corruption lol.

That's how the Warcraft Engine works. To be more precise, that's how Orb Effects in Warcraft works.

It is possible to make skills like Corruption, Feedback, Lifesteal, etc without them being Orb Effects by JASS but that takes too much programming whatnot and Orbs are easier to make.
