Sorry to put you guys in waiting! Here comes Chapter 9.

Chatper 9. Silence
“You’re not going to win when Elaine is with me!” Purist felt endless power sprang as he and Elaine bonded into one.
Abaddon felt a very human-like chill run up his spine as he saw the golden raze shine upon Purist, just like last time.
Bah, don’t be afraid! You have me, human. You have the strongest spirit in the whole world!
Purist took the first move as he quickly approached Abaddon.
Abaddon stood there, grinning as he had no intention to retaliate. Seeing the chance, Purist swung his enchanted hammer towards Abaddon’s chest.
“Gah!” Purist whined in pain along with Elaine as a surging pain burst out from the inside of his body. He looked at Abaddon, Tons of souls are surrounding him, protecting from any possible harm.
He got through Elaine’s defense… How is that… Possible?
Before he could think anymore, Abaddon swiped his Frostmourne and knocked Purist’s hammer out of the way.
“Nevermore and I are destined to be the champion, Purist, we…mmmffrm..mmmff! Mrgh!”
Purist watched in awe as Abaddon’s lips were slowly sealed into a thin line, which soon faded away. The place where his pale lips should be was replaced with a newly formed skin, as if the opening was never there.
Through Elaine’s eyes, Purist could also see Nevermore trying to jump out of Abaddon’s body, but to no avail as he always falls back in.
“Hurry up Purist, kill him fast! I can’t hold this any longer!” a scratchy voice came from the top of the hill.
It was Traxex.
Purist looked down as he raised his hammer, aiming carefully. Until he realized a thing…
I can’t do it…
All this time trying to track his brother down and eliminate him, he never thought of really killing Abaddon. Everytime he swung his hammer down, he was always sure that Abaddon would stay alive. He always knew, from the depths of his heart.
But now… Everything was over for Abaddon. He cannot cast anymore of his necromancy to save his own skin, not even when Nevermore is with him this time.
Nalen! I know what you’re thinking, but we have to do this!
Purist’s hands fought back with Elaine’s while she was trying to bring down the hammer. It was the first time he opposed his spirit, as the spirit did to him. And suddenly all the consequences for Elaine of doing so flooded towards his mind as Elaine let out a painful groan.
Purist let go. He had to, he cared for Elaine. Perhaps more than he cared for his brother.
However, it was too late. Traxex led out a high shriek and fell.
“Why did you spare me, brother…” still suffering from the pain of Traxex’s skill, Abaddon was unable to pick up.
“Vorl… Please, come back to the light side. You were born in the Thunderwrath family, you should be one of the messengers of God!” Purist didn’t notice as Abaddon started to grasp Frostmourne.
“Brother, let me heal you, let us come back to the light side!” Purist was so eager, he focused only his mind on imagining him and Vorl fighting side by side with the Sentinels in the future.
Nalen! Watch out!
Frostmourne struck Nalen’s chest as his conscience came back to reality. Although Elaine’s protection was enough to prevent fatal damage, Purist still fell to the ground, stunned.
Abaddon pointed Frostmourne towards Purist’s head.
“A life for a life, my debt is clear. I will see you next time, brother,” Abaddon pulled the sword out of the way as he walked off.
Purist looked back up. The Sentinels were pushing hard as the scourge scrambled back by the command of Abaddon. He slowly got up, and walked around, pondering of what has just happened.
Until he encountered a dieing ghoul.
He examined the Ghoul’s face as he never did. From the Ghoul’s bony face, he could still see sadness, he could still see that the Ghoul had feelings as well as humans. Some green liquid lay beside the Ghoul’s dark eyes. He assumed those were tears. In all this time he has killed countless ghouls, he never thought of anything about their feelings.. Until now.
What is this all about? What is the war about?
Killing a Ghoul feels like killing a comrade.
He lifted his hammer towards the heavens as a golden raze shone upon the ghoul.
Purist watched as the ghoul’s wounds started to recover.
“Who…are…you… Why…you…save…N’aix…” the ghoul looked hard into Purist’s eye.
Purist bent down and said:
“I am Purist Thunderwrath. Now go…N..N’aix, you also have a home, like us,”
“I…Purist…you…” the ghoul’s eyes glimmered with tears again.
“I must be going now, farewell, I hope we won’t meet again.,” Purist started to walk off.
“No! You saved my life, N’aix will follow you… N’aix don’t like to be with my cold masters…”
Trust him, Nalen. He is telling the truth.
Elaine told Purist as she observed N’aix’s mind.
“Very well, N’aix, let’s go home,”
Purist again looked at the plains of the battlefield. The soldiers all lifted their weapons and roared in respond to their glory.
That day, the Sentinels have won.
But…
Purist thought to himself
I have lost…
