ulsfaar damage plus?

with ulsfaar's ability of fury swipes, i've heard many people saying that items such as MKB,bashers,buriza, etc. are a "no-no" for ulsfaar. can someone please tell me which items to get because i believe for every hero damage is essential

Anything with triggered damage is no-no to Ulfsaar.

Next best thing is to get pure damage boost items.

Butterfly is good for him.
Lothar's Edge adds damage too.
Radiance doesn't have triggered damage so it's fine with him.
Heart of Tarrasque if you want Enrage's damage increased.

hmmmm... but i was wondering... is there a limit to the fury swipe... or will the damage keep going up for as long as i get to hit the guy...
e.g

lets presume i get to hit roshan for about 30 times... wit lvl 4 fury swipes will the damage of the 30th hit be around damage +720?

First of all, no, Fury Swipes has no damage limit. That makes Ulfsaar one of the best Roshan solo heroes (i've seen something like a 700 damage hit).
Secondly, simply, Ulfsaar's attack is ranged, BUT his Ultimates damage is melee, i.e. if you attack Centaur with your Ulti on, then you take damage for being ranged AND being melee. Note however, that the damage from your ulti comes a bit after (or ahead? Can't remember) of your normal attack - like Spiritbreaker's 'damage based on speed' ability.

(double post, soz, can't edit now, on mobile)
Went and found out some more on Ulfsaar:
- when you score a critical hit, Fury Swipes' damage is reset.
- bash + ministun percentage is lowered by Fury Swipes (basheqgs suck anyway: ol' Fuzzy Wuzzy is ranged!)
- if Enrage is active, and you attack Tiny, you WON'T get stunned by craggy exterior.
- with Enrage, you will be damaged by Spiked Carapace and Blademail - but the returned damage's percentage is based only on Enrage's bonus damage.
- sadly, Enrage does not function with Battlefury's cleave.
- with Enrage active, you WILL be slowed if you attack a target that has Frost Armor on.

wow.... 700+ damage.... which means... orb effect or other items with bash,minibash,crit is a big nono..... hmmm.....

Well... I played some games with Ulfsaar and he is one super duper hero (and bugged a little too). You will see that his ultimate actually deals the bonus damage even if Ulfsaar's attack misses (or if he doesn't complete the attack animation and the unit runs away). That is because probably the event used is "Unit is attacked" which is triggered just as Ulfsaar attacks (doesn't mean that he has to have a successful damaging attack), so it is triggered along with the attack.

The items I gave Ulfsaar were Power Threads - Battle Fury - Heart of Tarrasque - Butterfly - Hyperstone (game ended by the time I wanted to get a second Heart). Battle Fury with HoT do miracles. I played against two melee heroes (the pig guy (never actually played with him) and Slander) and I got kills one after another. What BF & HoT do so great is regenerate your life and mana like hell. You need mana to stomp & Overpower and life since making a kill can get you damaged. I got to a point at which five seconds after I got a kill I was at full mana & life and ready to cause some havoc.

Slardar will beat the H*ll out of ulfsaar.

Ever heard of 'Amplify Damage LVL3'?

Even before ulfsaar can finish his damages it'll be over...

Where n is the number of hits.


Wrong equation.

It should be

n [250 + base damage + {n[x(n-1)]}/2

x = damage added by fury swipes
n = number of hits

Let's say Ulfsaar uses Overpower, has 150 base damage, has a Divine Rapier, Fury Swipes[4], and Enrage isn't on.

To calculate how much damage he deals for the duration of Overpower [5 hits], you will use the aforementioned equation.

n [250 + base damage + {n[x(n-1)]}/2

n [250 + 150 + {n[24(n-1)]}/2

5 [250 + 150 + {5[24(5-1)]}/2]

5 [400 + 5(12(4))]

5 [400 + 20(12)]

5 [400 + 240]

5 [640]

3200

Ulfsaar deals 3200 damage to the target, not yet reduced by armor, regen, and other factors.



DISCLAIMER
The equation is correct IF Ulfsaar's first attack does NOT have the bonus damage.
I'm not sure that his first attack on the target already has the bonus damage from Fury Swipe.

Fury Swipe[4]
First Attack damage computation = +24, +48, +72
Second Attack damage computation = 0, +24, +48

I need clarification. If the second computation is true, then the equation won't change. If the first is correct, the equation will be

n [250 + base damage + {n[2x + x(n-1)]}/2
