[July GC Entry] Cowboy's Boots

Cowboy's Boots
A cowboy from the past, he was famous for his behavior when handling his enemies: merciless, gentle, fair. Everyone who got kicked in the face suffered a great pain. And now, I know that it was because of the Cowboy's Boots.

Requirements
Power Treads (1850)
Ghost Scepter (1500)
Western Boots Recipe Scroll (150)
Total of 2500 3500 gold

Effects
+ 70 movespeed Doesn't stack with any other boots
+ 40 Attack Speed
+ 12 selected attribute Depending on PT's attribute when assembled. Cannot be changed
+ 8 all attributes

Passive: Justice of West
Justice shall be served! Now w00t! XP
For every heroes killed by the bearer, he gains permanent 6 selected attribute. But, every death of the bearer takes 6 same selected attribute away.

Lasts indefinetely
The attribute depends on the "selected attribute" from PT
The attribute can't be changed
Doesn't affect the same attribute of the killed/killer
Suiciding or denying the bearer will still take away the attribute, but only 3 (the half)
KS-ing doesn't get counted lolz


Active: Gentle Form
The Western Boots surround an area around the bearer with the gentle power of the wild west.
Adds 50% damage to all allied heroes within 500 AoE while reducing enemy heroes' armor by 5 within the same area.

Lasts 10 sec
Manacost of 125
Cooldown of 50

This ability has been banished to graveyard because people think it's boring XP

Discussion
Well, yet another GC entry by last_dota_freak! a.k.a. ldf! My previous 2 GC entries got on the Top 4, so I hope it will do the same or even the better too.. =)

This item is mostly an upgraded version of Power Treads. The passive may seem too imba at start, but it's not. Since it can reduce one of your attributes, if you're feeding lol. It's a decent stat item too. Oh btw I have taken away the active, because of this:

I don't think it's imba, so if you think it is, then please tell me. Oh and does it fit the requirement of this GC month? *points at shim or ghost XD* I think it fits lolx.

mm.. y make it for tech? all the damage and aspd (dps) are going to be wasted
i guess u suggest it bcoz of the passive? (similiar to bloodstone)
well, techies will absolutely lose 5 attributes, and if he gets an enemy hero killed, he gains back the 5 attributes.
if he gets double kill, he gets 10. and so on, and so on...
about the losing stats, well, i think that it's the one that makes it interesting o,0
but i'll take ur advance if more ppl suggest it ^_^

So are you gonna change the name or wait for Kevin to officially submit his?

The story behind the item is really random... just because of the name and the descriptions, it'll probably be considered to be within the theme... :P

The abilities and such are nice but im having trouble wrapping my head around the fact that all that could come from a pair of boots, but then again its Dota xD

I think it is waaaay too complicated. Too much power in a single item and that is the problem most of the items here have. They are being made too complex. Think about the real in game items. They are simple. Guinso hexes, buriza crit, butterfly evasion. They all have(or had) a trade mark (butter had one until talisman killed it. which i think was a horrible idea, took part of butter uniquness IMO).
This item has a lot of great parts to it, they are too good and to many for a single item I would recommend for you to stick to one idea, exploit it, and save the rest for later items.
I dont like the idea of upgrading the boots. It just makes the other three seem lamer than yours. Clearly this would be better than phase rendering them gone.

oh and about boots upgrade, i was dead mind of thinking the recipe, so i think trying to upgrade boots is just a trial XD
anyway the passive can screw the bearer though XD

I didn't say it was imbalanced. I said it was too complex.

Take a katana and slice your item into 4 pieces. Take one of those pieces and put it here. Improve it. Make it work. Take the other 3 pieces and make 3 new separate items out of them.

You don't have to if you don't want to, but your item is like to sweet of a candy. It is like over smoking the chronic. Better off in moderation.

Not bad, but theres a couple of things.

Suiciding//denying really shouldn't take away stats. I mean usually you take some skill to suicide or deny. When you suicide its funny, but when you deny everyone's like OMFGH4X0RWTFPRO. Just seems like if you use some skill you should get to keep your stats.

Also, I don't like the active. It seems like you're really pushing it. I mean really, how is making enemies weaker and allies stronger "gentle"? The main thing about this item is the stat gain which could be very impressive for a carry, like Pudge's stats from killing, but the active just goes overboard. I like items being simpler and adding that (relatively boring) active is just buzz killing it for me.

So I'd suggest you don't lose stats for suiciding or denying, take away the active, and cut the price for the recipe in half.

And now its a scary item.

To counter Sunsnike's points, he says its basically > all the other boots.

Buying this item in the first place is risky, on anyone but carries and hero killers its worthless, and if you're a feeder its a liability.

But used right its incredibly effective, and just an epic idea overall.
