How to play small games?

I've just started playing dota. Barely three weeks now. Recently i played a lot of 2v1s. Still don't get how to go about it. What do you do playing a 2v1 agaisnt an experienced player? (me and my buddy, noobs, vs a much more experienced player Sad

) Avoid him early game then try to gank after lvl 6-12? Or try to harrass him early? How big would be his gold avantage at the start? Nothing seems to be working. Help!

One of you should go against the opponent, while the other farms. After you have good items, switch with your teammate. Just push one side. When the opponent tries to defend, the other one pushes.

The opponent gets 3500 gold, while the both of you get 1750 gold.

get one hero with multiple disabling skill and a nuker type let the nuker farm out first since the disabler can take care of himself with disabling skills then switch lane after the nuker got a good item (ex. lina = soul boosters first then complete arghanim)

Hmm, try using stunner heroes.
Sven and Vengeful, then think about some combos.

Okay i will give you an example

Vengeful appears at the front of the opponent, while sven is trying to backstab him.

Vengeful stuns the opponent Sven appears at the back and uses his God's strength then Vengeful swaps if the enemy tries to escape.
Sven stuns the opponent and hits it hard, while vengeful hits the opponent too and waiting for the cooldown to stun him.

well...avoid him at early game,..just harass him have good items...

try using heroes like magnataur and crixalis...or any heroes with great a combo...

or just beat him by pushing...well your enemy cannot follow the two of you at the same time....

The worst part is your opponent getting 3500 gold... Get a good combo... Try Bone clinkz with a slower/stunner/anti escape person like Warlock/enigma/Rooftrellen....

Nuker/disabler combo with disabler going against him early game? Makes sense. But he usually takes ranged heroes(Lich seems to be a favourite). So won't melee disablers have difficulty holding up? Plus with the gold advantage at the start.. Maybe disabler/nuker avoiding him at start would work? Sad

And thanks for those suggestions. My tests will get over tomorrow. Heh heh hopefully tomorrows game would be better.

Familiarize yourself with all DotA heroes first.
Try using Rhasta (Shadow Shaman) and Crixalis (Sandking).
