I got some n00b questions here and hope that you could help me.

Question Number 1.

If I am Pudge with 10 armor and Rigwarl got 100 damage, how much will Rigwarl hit me?

Question Number 2.

Does armor affect magic?

Question Number 3.
If I am Pudge with 3000 hitpoints, and Lina deals 950 damage on me with ulti, will I got 2050 hitpoints left?

Question Number 4.

If I am Motred and use Radiance/Butterfly, will it Disable Motred's evasion skill "Blur"?

So, that's all my questions hope you can answer me.

Hello noob! Welcome to DS! have fun and STAY ACTIVE!!!

1] I don't know the exact damage reduction of 10 armor, but you can be sure that the damage Pudge will receive is less than 100.

2] Yes. Armor type, that is. All heroes have an innate 25% spell resistance, so all spells will have their damage reduced by 25%. Armor quantity does not affect spells, so it doesn't matter even if you have 99999 armor. Take note that some triggered damage spells are affected by armor quantity.

3] Pudge will get 712.5 damage, not counting reduction from Flesh Heap.

4] Evasion never stacks, sorry. The larger evade overrides the smaller one.

I'll help on some
Q1: I don't have the exact values, but when you highlight your armor, you see a percent rating on it, and reduces physical damage that much.

Q2: Only magic with physical damage(such as Diabolic Edict, or Wild Axes) The rest are affected by magic resistance, which is a different value from armor(base resistance for heroes is 25%, so a 300 damage spell only deals 225 damage)

Q3: Take into consideration magic resistance for the 950 damage laguna blade. 25%base + 16%Flesh heap, is a 41% reduction in damage. You're only taking roughly 560 damage.

silencer: armour or not armour?

Hi there,

i have a related question here about NORTROM's glaives of wisdom. A guide i read (not here) wrote that his glaives ignore enemy armour. Does it mean that NORTROM deals a full +50 ?
(the number that pops up eveytime i w-click on the enemy, i'm sure the number varies)

If the above is true, does the 25% spell resistance (of which yukino spoke) still counts?

Yes, it passes through spell resistance.
Arcane Orb and Impetus are the same.

I believe arcane orb and impetus are magical damage, and are affected by resistance. IIRC

Indeed. However, it is also a Hero Attack, meaning Hero Type armor resistance is ignored.

then you will get about 62 damage....

hmmm...thanx for the reply. No wonder the dota gods say NORTROM is deadly.

However, just to clarify this, is there actually a distinction between glaives VS arcane orb/impetus? Physical/magic dmg sort of distinction?

Impetus, Arcane Orb, and Glaives of Wisdom deal damage the same way.

All of them are Magic Damage, Hero Attack Type spells.

The only difference are how they compute damage and the heroes that have them.
