when planning to use impale+finger combo on an enemy always look at his hp first.level 4 impale and finger of death on a 600+ hp enemy would be a sure kill.if not do some normal attack when the enemy is in air before ulti

Spiritbreaker is not hard to use as a newcomer hero, but you will need a friend to tell you when to time his skills. Plus, he only has 2 active skills, and is one of the fastest heroes in the game. However, i believe that skeleton king Leroic is the easiest to use because you can target your ONLY active spell easily and with this you can run away, kill, stun etc.
If you are REALLY finding trouble, try a ranged hero, one of the easiest to use is Lightning Revenent Razor (I think it is Gillete now, or is that a name bug?)

What starter heroes????I started with Yurnero and Morphling..

Exp teaches Everything go to the Heroes Section and Look at Heroes You want To PLay.

After that Decide your role after a feew games whether you like to support, tank for your team,Carry it to victory, GoAroundthemapaNdKilling...

THEN search for Guides.

lion is a little hard for a beginner because of his sad ass hp. leoric/tidehunter is the way to go. what you need to do is learn when to time your stun so that you get the kill. read ghosts guide to dota so you aren't confused by all the jargon like ganking, ksing, juking, etc.

I'd suggest using ranged heroes initially. You don't want to get to close while in lane and feed.
Go for easy to play heroes like Sniper and Clinkz.
Keep in mind, that these heroes need skill to be played EFFECTIVELY.
But you can learn the basics of Dota through them.

I would Hardly recomend King Leoric, he got one spell to use, so if you friend helps you whit items you should do good.

your probably gonna have a hard time no matter what hero u decide to use at first. the best thing you can do is to watch replays and take note of the small stuff, such as how they lane and when they are aggressive and stuff.

also, beware of towers.
