WHO IS THE BETTER TANK?

There are more guys that can out-tank the ones you mentioned, IMO, like Treant, DK, SK, Abaddon, Omniknight, Alchemist, BB, and possibly N'aix and Axe. But for the choices you gave, I'd say Tide and Centaur. For Slardar, I don't think he can tank that much, unlike the others, like Magnus, who is a great supporting tank, but I think Tide and Centaur would do better at tanking overall.

Pudge is a good intel tank, spells just bounce off of him. The problem with that is: noboy will target him. But he can cut to shreds by a troll or mort or anything with crits really. He is better off getting his str jacked up and wrecking lives with his ult + aghis scepter. It pretty much gives his ult unlimited dmg potential.

Centaur...

But for better tanking reasons axe with mjolnir and Bmail is the best return and tank...

Yup but its only a little diffrence... and also axe was THE ONLY ONE IN THE GAME WHO CAN LITERALLY TANK because he forces heroes to attack him...

you need to look at more then just being a tank.

having 10k HP is not as scary as having 6k HP if you only do 40 damage a hit. (providing the 6k does something closer to 150 :P)

Well in terms of team play tide would be better because he can slow, his anchor smash hurts alot (look at the hp of the creeps when they get hit) And ravage is one hell big of a disable/damage ultimate. Kraken shells makes buff lasts shorter on you. Which is another plus. While centaur has double edge which only serves to kill or help a teammate kill. Hoofstomp has a small AOE and is quite hard to aim without dagger. return is basic rambo return damage. and his ultimate just makes him more of a tank. I like tide more because he can do alot more things to serve his team then a centaur could.

And really its more of what you like since there other tankers who can serve better then centaur warchief. Such as omniknight, and pitlord, DK, etc.

stop giving suggestions from outside the suggested heros.
he wants to know which one of the heros he stated is the better tank

@pudge question.
in early-mid game he is a ganker.
in late mid-late game he is a tank.

Cent:
Stun
Double edge
Thorns
strength

Tide
Gush
Smash
Shell
Stun

Stun: Cent spams, even though smaller AoE +1 cent
Egde vs gush: gush=ganker, edge=nuke... gush still. +1 tide
Thorns vs smash: return damage or % AoE attack... just some more damage 0
strength vs shell: more hp/regen or more absorbing power... early str/late absorb...

Early tank=Cent
Late tank=Tide

kraken shell is selfish though >< Reduces dmg to him but centuar is generous and just hits every1 that hits him! Thats good ol equality for ya.
