just asking can anybody here explain what the types of damages are.? i mean theres that Hero type, physical, spell, piercing, Chaos etc... and i don't understand what is meant by these and how important they are... how do they differ from each other and how do they damage heroes and creeps.?
oh., and is damage reduction from armor the same for each type of damage.?

Here's what I know:
Piercing Type
-Deals more damage to Heavy Armor type.
-Usually, these attacks are ranged.
Chaos Type
-Damage dealt cannot be reduced by armor reduction
-The only damage type that can damage Divine Armor
-Cannot be reduced by ANY armor type(even buildings)
Sorry, but this is what I know.... ^_^

They modified it a bit in dota.
Chaos does unreduced damage except for buildings
Piecing damage does extra damage to creeps but lesser to heroes and buildings.

also hero dmg deal normal dmg to evrything,skills such as krobelus ulti is counted as physical dmg and deal dmg depend on your lvl and stat...that is all i know for now or someone know more than me and share his/her idea

Hero Damage = Does reduced damage to Fortified Armor [read: siege units and structures]
Chaos Damage = Not reduced by armor type but is reduced by armor quanity. Does 40% damage to fortified armor
Piercing Damage = Does additional damage to unarmored and light armored units [read: Scourge/Sentinel Creeps], reduced damage to fortified armor.
