The interview with quale by vins

vins: How do you feel of being the winner of GotM?

quale: very happy! it is an incredible experience. i believe this GotM is really a tough one to win since my guide is competing Greater Bash and cfx's guides. these two are great guide makers. thanks for giving me this award!

vins: Was it difficult to write the guide? Justify your answer.

quale: it was. my guide is about roaming earthshaker. the hero is a pub favorite, but the technique is not. the strategy is also not newbie friendly and risky or hard to pull. how am i going to convince the readers that this is effective? how am i going to inspire them to use it? those are difficult things for me to answer while i am making the guide.

vins: Will you edit or remake the guide if needed?

quale: edit, yes. just like now since 6.66 changed the AoE's of some of raigor's skill, mechanic of his ultimate, and aghanims. remake, i'm not sure. maybe if icefrog remakes raigor? but if that happens, there is definitely something wrong with the frog.

vins: Why did you write the guide?

quale: at first, puppey's leadership and roaming style inspired me. then i checked our guides. although we have good raigor guides already, one is a recent entry too, we don't have any guide about dedicated roamers. the technique will be a good and new one to our site. i write it right away.

vins: Do you have any plans to make another guide?

quale: yes. i lack one hero to complete my team. i still don't know who to write a guide next and when though. i also miss my routine. until something inspire me, yeah i will create another guide. i just hope DotA is still alive and kicking when that comes.

vins: Did you ever thought to stop writing?

quale: yes. after i wrote the nevermore guide, i thought of stopping already. then i thought of creating a trilogy, so zeus and rigwarl comes out. now, i was thinking of a team guide, so i made a raigor. i need one more. after that i'll stop. but ...who knows.

vins: How long did it take you to write the guide?

quale: probably two and a half weeks. one week writing the strategy. the rest is creating those images.

vins: Where did you take your information from?

quale: i watched all roaming earthshaker replay i could find, most of them are puppey's. then i took some practice with my friends. i also checked other DotA sites/blogs that discusses roaming and raigor. all these are my sources of information.

vins: Did you really believe in yourself when making the guide?

quale: yes. every guidemaker should. about my roaming earthshaker, i know that this is effective since it is being applied in competitive games. and i experience it myself how fun and good it is to apply in games. i just hope that this has the same effect to the readers.

vins: If you have a boy or girlfriend, how does he/she thinks about you making the guide instead of going somewhere with him/her?

quale: in my current situation, she will not just think ...she would actually kill me. it is not a secret though, she knows i write strategies and stuff. she just doesn't know that i sometimes sleep for 5 hours just to finish the guide. zzz.

vins: If you pick the good and bad points from your guide, what would they be?

quale: the good points are the presentation, animated GIFs, new kind of strategy (for the site), and in-depth explanations and tips. the bad points are my grammatical errors, and lots of images that the guide takes time to finish loading.

vins: I remember you saying

vins: Would you like to win a weekend with Ghost and her cooking utensils (those include knives and chopsticks)?

quale: sure. what are we eating?

vins: You have an enchanted crystal ball, what is going to happen with drew in the future?

quale: he will run for president here in the Philippines. with DS's support in his campaign, the election will be a sweep. once he's seated, the first thing he'll do is declare DotA as the national game and February 1 as DotA Day.

vins: Does Caspian still sleep with a teddy bear?

quale: he does?! how sweet. i bet he sings "mama bear and papa bear" too.

vins: If you were to give Orochi a title, what would it be?

quale: The Severus

vins: If you could choose 2 mods as your parents, whom would it be?

quale: amplirage and pauline. yeah, they're too busy they will not bother me from what i'm doing.

vins: What is Ghost’s secret dream in your opinion?

quale: he/she dreams that the world has only one sex.

vins: What will Yukino ask from Santa at Christmas?

quale: he asks Santa a some sort of telepathy power that he can easily search things he is lookin for, even if it is under a
lady's skirt.

vins: Orochi is blindfolded and tied up on a chair in front of you, what do you do?

quale: for safety measures and confidentiality, i will not type it here. i can give the answer via PM though.
