Beginner item choice

boots are excellent at early game since it allows you to chase and escape. then buy stat items and the items you need.

I like playing pudge and getting either boots + clarity becasue of his low mana for early hooking and hero chasing, or saving it all and getting a Ring of Health for early item building and staying in the fray longer

Starting items do depend on what hero you are playing.
Ring of Regen on ranged characters is best imo whereas melee need more regen and I tend to focus on Tangoes or Pots. The reasoning is the RoR does not give back my health fast enough after a shot at the opposing heroes because his creeps will usually get a couple free shots on me compared to minimal hits when I play ranged heroes.
Ironwood Branches are decent for slot fillers early game if you don't plan on returning to your fountain for an extended time and/or don't have a chicken. They are cheap. The end cost for them is really only 29 gold. WTF you say they cost 57 nub...well you don't keep them....they were fillers. You sell them back midgame for about 28 gold....which means you paid 29 golds per branch for the early damage, health, mana, and regen boosts. Solo laners imo should top off their inv with GG Branches even when they have a chicken to get a little extra oomph.
Please never get boots for your first item. They are not needed until chases start to appear which tends to be after level 5ish at the earliest usually. Bracers are usually the safest pick as they add overall stats plus health which is about the only counter to nukes available in early game play.

Uhm...I go for Circlets and 3 Tango sets first....You won't be needing branches...since you're gonna be saving for bracer/band/talisman.....only get branches if it's a 5v5 game.

i prefer go for preseverance and a few branches.... if not enuff money... ring of health or regenaration wif branches

My beginner item build depends on my hero's primary attribute:

Int - Null Tulisman, Blades of attack, Staff of wizardy, Ring of basilius, boots of speed
Str - Bracer, mithril hammer, gauntlets of strength, ring of basilius, boots of speed
Agi - Wraith band, broadsword, blades of attack, ring of basilius, boots of speed

Fill in your inventory with 5 branch, few tangoes and have a chicken.

Or if you're an str, 2 gauntlets and tangoes, oh don't forget to have a chicken in case your team mates are greedy.

Boots? Nah, i only get it on...Juggernaut (Blade Fury needs MS)
And Techies (For suicidal purposes O_O)

ussually this is what i go for:
1.for early killers:
ring of regen, ironwoods,tangos
2.farmers:
clarities,ironwoods,RoB
3.whatever types:
ironwoods,RoR,health waters or clarities...

im personally a chicken user. i buy a chicken, and maybe a few stat boosters, and head to my lane. this way, if i play late game heroes i can stay in my lane forever and ever to get as much exp as possible
