My Kardel keeps getting spanked; am I missing something?

hmm... head shot in beggining is kinda.. noob. reason being in the beggining you really should harrass as much as possible. the thing that alot of peeps over look w/ sniper is his attk anamation. its very subtle. you hardly notice it. soooo what im getting at is when you harrass w/ him and you dont have head shot you usually are able to attk. players from the shadows w/out them noticing. till their health is in the yellow.

dunno it works for me

then again im pro.

if you really are going to skip scattershot and try to be a hero killer, go with range and stats with ur ulti when you can.
mix in wraith bands w/ power treads and then build your BIG ITEM. (ex. mjollner, butterfly, mkb etc. etc.)

Kardel is a very noob friendly hero always but always consider that..

1. He is a ranged hero (so hit should be hitting behind your creeps)
2. Dont ever ever go 1 on 1 with a melee player (becoz you are ranged that is)
3. Dictate the rythm of the game, you are a ranged type so hit and run! lols
4. dont be too aggressive, stay behind your creeps
5. concentrate on farming! (kardel item build is very expensive)
6. dont buy any items that is out of your item build
like wraith bands and flasks (chicken and tangos will be enough)
7. just farm farm and farm...

*SKILL BUILD

-take aim and headshot alternate
-assasinate if available
-jump into stats instead of scatter shot

*Item Build

-Eye of Skadi - expensive but a good combination for kardel it will boost his damage, aspd and I think kardel is more difficult to kill if he has this item.
-hyperstones - just buy two of these
-MKB or buriza - but usually I go for MKB coz it has that mini stun effect.

*conclusion
kardel is very easy to use and a very noob friendly just remember not to be aggresive.. avoid kills and be alert on enemy ganks. hint whenever you didnt see your enemy in the map be cautious kardel doesnt have any stun so kardel doesnt have any escape rope, and that is his weakness. Spam assasinate.. if the view is clear and you have plenty of creeps blocking your enemies path assasinate!
as you can see on kardels animation he has this little charging specially on his level 3 of assasinate so calculate your distance and the time kardel successfully shoot his assasinate.

agreed with a lot of people here! kardel is very fragile hero and easy to kill. eye of skadi is the perfect item as you can hit and run if you are chased. headshot combine with monkey king bar is a nice way to hurt your opponent in a big distance making your enemy thinking twice before encountering you. but, in order to do it, you need to gain a lot of gold. harrass if you want but you'll need to get at least every last hit possible. last tip: don't die :P switch lane if you are to harrass.

Your skill build is correct, maxing the Take Aim before Headshot and before Scattershot, also learning Assassinate whenever possible.

Item build is different. Sniper has slow movement speed and no escape skill, getting a Lothar's Edge will greatly benefit him. Getting Boots of Travel will help too, in terms of chasing/escaping/pushing.

I have another build, the int type, get first boots, then go for guinsoo, lothar's, skadi, BoT, Bloodstone, and kelen's

headshot/take aime and then go skadi s&y lothar butterfly and i find skady is key so hope it helps stop posting such stupidities try playing kardel scattershots/stats the neutrals will kill u think then post dont post then think
