You simply buy the game Warcraft 3 and the expansion Frozen Throne. Then you can play DotA games over Battle.Net. To play over Battle.Net you will need a valid CD-Key.

u install the gg client then u make a user from the website (www.gg-game.com) then u log in using the gg client, choose a room the make the settings and specify a path to open warcraft:Frozen throne, then u press start game in the room then u go to local area net and u create or join a game> then u get stiffed in front of the screen playing for hours a day

for the speed i have 64kbps and i can play normally not very well but i can manage that lag so i use eurobattle.net and gg-client and if you have and original cd-key just pres battle.net and it patches your watcraft
