Ok first i want to say that this is just the first part of a several part series because it would be too long to submit all together + i couldn't be bothered to write type it all at once.

Note: Plz make sure u read the message i left after the end of the story.

Now we begin...

The DotA Games!

Chapter One
The Frozen Gamekeeper

The unkempt silver knight statues barely managed to glint in the dark corners of the antechamber. The polished armour of the ancient knight statues illuminated the room in a dull white glow. A cold mist carrying the wails of dozens of lost souls suddenly crept underneath the high ancient oak double doors and was followed shortly by foul whispering voices of evil. The double doors suddenly creaked slowly open and the wood began to freeze over just as a gust of frozen air blew them open far enough for the dark presence to pass through. As it came through the room, floating on the wailing mist, a layer of frost crept its way over the glowing armour worn by the knight statues. The being of deathly cold and unspeakable evil stopped short at another set of oaken double doors.

The huge oaken double doors which led into the main chamber were easily over 15ft tall at their highest point. Trimmed with the finest gold and polished to the point where getting a splinter from them was practically impossible, the doors were of the finest order. And as Furion sat watching them, training his ears to hear beyond the oak, he could tell there was a dark presence waiting behind them…
The limbs of the giant treant standing beside him suddenly groaned as it could too feel the darkness behind the doors disrupting the life force within the room.

At that same time, the wailing mist crept out from underneath the doors into the room filling it with the echoing wails of the dozens of lost souls. The door began to freeze over when a huge gust of frozen air blew them fully open and there in the doorway stood the Frozen Lord himself, Kel’Thuzad.
“Ah, you have arrived” said Furion rising from his seat and setting his staff against the wall.
“Yes, only these circumstances would permit me to enter negotiations with the likes of you”
“You and me both, Kel’Thuzad” Furion shuddered as he uttered the Frozen Lord’s name.
Kel’Thuzard hovered over to his respective seat on the other side of the room but instead of sitting he simply floated behind the table. It was a long rectangular table, the likes of which is used in a dining hall. The room itself had the same shape but with rounded corners housing alcoves, all but one of them contained a extinguished candle.

“So Furion , why is it that I have been summoned here? And why the oversized tree? Do you not trust me? Oh Furion you don’t trust me, is that it? Do you have any idea how that pains me so?”
“Oh please, we both know that there is no pain in this world that you could suffer from that could ever please me enough”
“Enough chat. Why am I here Furion?”
Furion paused for a second then let out a ‘here goes nothing’ sigh before continuing. “I have summoned you here to discuss the terms of a truce”
“You wish to make a truce with the scourge? I thought more of you Furion, you did after all manage to hold back the first invasion”
“Yes we night elves have defeated your kin before and shall do so again. However…”
“However?”
“However this time it is different, we stand at a stalemate, our forces have the Frozen Throne in our sights and the Scourge has begun to ascend Mt. Hyjal. If either side makes a move we all lose”
“Yes. It is as you say, Prophet. However I also come with my own proposition”
Furion turned to consult the wise treant Rooftrellen beside him and turned back to face Kel’Thuzad “Fine. State your business”
“It is simple, I will hold a contest”
“A contest? And what kind of contest would you propose this to be?”
“A simple contest pitting 12 of your finest heroes against 12 of my finest heroes…”
“Is that so? Knowing you lich, there must be a catch to it”
“Indeed. If my heroes are to defeat yours then the world tree belongs to the scourge however if your heroes manage to find a way to defeat my superior heroes… the Frozen Throne will be yours…”
“If I were to allow this contest, would the safety and well being of all the enemies of the scourge be guaranteed?”
“Only if you guarantee that I will not witness the undoing of the scourge”
Furion drew a deep breath while keeping his eyes locked with the icy pupils of Kel’Thuzad. Rooftrellen bent his massive frame over and whispered something in Furions ear. “I know but we may have no other choice, I sense greater powers working in the lich’s favour. Please forgive me for what I am about to do old friend, for I may be single-handedly condemning all enemies of the scourge for doing what I am about to do…” The mighty treant was already regretting the decision that Furion had come to but he knew that the Prophet who had planted him and had since been his oldest and best friend knew what was best. And what’s more, he knew not to argue with the equally if not wiser elf.
“It seems I may have no other choices available to me… So I am going to allow this contest… but if one of your wretched undead so much as touches one of my sentinels, Elune help me I will personally see to it that your precious lich king is destroyed!”
“So be it Prophet, not one of your sentinels will be touched during the contest”
“Then it is settled, I shall hold the contest…”
“You misunderstand me Furion, I believe it was agreed that I would hold this contest and not you”
Furion almost turned away at that thought but decided to go along for as long as he could. “Very well lich, where do you propose to hold this contest then?”
It was at the end of that question that a smirk broke the cold stare of the lich. “The contest shall be held at the former capital city of Lordaeron”
A bead of sweat trickled down Furion’s forehead even though it was freezing in the chamber. “Lordaeron” he thought last time he’d been there, it was overrun by hordes of undead. Furion and Rooftrellen sensed that there was going to be a degree of foul play involved but nonetheless Furion continued to submit to the lich’s proposition.
“Lich you have made your proposition and I have agreed to it thus far. Only one thing remains to be made clear now, when do we meet for this contest of yours?”
“At precisely dawn in six days we will meet in Lordaeron to decide the ultimate fate of this world, and on this sixth day I promise you Furion that this world that your night elf people have protected for so long will be consumed by the burning legion”
“So be it Kel’Thuzad but I will have you know that the enemies of the scourge will no go down so easily”
“Ah you still have some fighting spirit left in you after all the years gone by. You will need every last bit of it if you wish to survive the sundering of this world!”
“This world was torn asunder long ago lich, and yet it still lives on! You can only hope to even lay your cold dead eyes on the world tree!”
“Very well Furion, we shall see who triumphs and who falls in the Defence of the Ancients Games which shall hence forth be known as the DotA games!”

Plz stay tuned for part 2: "Lordaeron Showdown"

I am going to take any suggestions as to which 12 heros from the sentinel and which 12 heros from the scourge i will include in the rest of the story.

I would love to see Morphling and bounty hunter. As for scourge, Razor would be fun.......
