1. What is DotaStrategy.com?

DotaStrategy.com (DS) is a strategy site for the popular Warcraft III Frozen Throne custom map DotA Allstars. Members can easily share their creativity and knowledge by creating strategies and hero ideas. DS also has its own hero and item databases and discussion boards.

2. Help! I don't know the answer to the secret question in the registration!

The answer is SCOURGE. Not SCOURAGE or SCOUGE.

3. Why can't I view entire strategies?

You need to be registered and logged in to be able to do that. If you're not yet registered, go here.

4. Why does my parent or guardian have to give me permission to use the site?

If you're under 13, we require this step to avoid trouble should you encounter anything objectionable in the site. But we do try our very best to keep things clean (G-rated at best) here.

5. But I'm older than 13, why do you still require me?

Because you clicked the wrong link while registering, silly! Shoot me an email (andrew at dotastrategy.com) so I can fix it.

6. I have a strategy to share. How do I make one?

Go to My Strategies and click Build New Individual Hero Strategy.

7. I have a hero idea in mind. How do I make one?

Go to My Strategies and click Build New Hero Idea.

8. Why doesn't my strategy/hero idea show in the front page?

Each strategy and hero idea needs to be approved before it becomes published.

9. What is the approval process like? And how long does it take?

Both the admin and mods are involved in the approval process. Mods 'vote' for strategies and hero ideas they want approved. Once they reach the required number of votes, it's smooth sailing from there. Due to the large volume we're receiving, approval may take 1-2 weeks give or take. In some cases, it takes longer than that.

10. How do I know if my strategy will be approved at all?

If you made a good strategy, it shouldn't have any problem getting approved. As an example, look at the top 10 strategies and use them as a model for your strategy. You are responsible for your own work. We only look at it, it's up to you to make it great.

11. Does contacting the admin make approval faster?

Yes and no. Yes, if your work is extraordinary. No, if it's only subpar or worse. You are free to "lobby" your strategy/hero idea to the mods so they can vote for it.

12. What do I get out of making a strategy or hero idea?

Approval of the community and peers. Fame. Gold.

13. Speaking of gold, what is that for?

It's just a way of rewarding members who contribute to the community. With enough gold, members can buy cool items from the Armory.

14. How do I post my replay?

Go to the Replays forum. Post a new message and attach the replay file using the form located below. If possible, limit one replay per thread.

15. Who are the mods of DS?

Orochi, Nidoking, Yukino_Silvermaine, The.Raven and Quickbrownfox.

16. Who is the admin?
